Ron Paul, Anti-Elitist

Ron Paul is a nut. I don’t know if that needs repeating, but it feels like it. He’s in bed with truthers, which make him a scumbag comparable to racists — which he’s also in bed with. But he’s also just stupid and completely out of touch. When asked about Palin, he said here supporters are “more establishment, conventional Country-Club type of Republicans.”

Yeah, that’s the problem with Palin: Too elitist. She’s always flying around in her fancy helicopter plane shooting wolves with her brand name rifles because she just feels she’s too good to walk around the ground throwing rocks at them like Ron Paul salt of the earth types. I bet her supporters have to use brand name Reynolds Wrap to make their hats instead of just buying the store brand tin foil even though both block out government mind control signals just the same.

I kid, but Ron Paul does have a long career ahead of him… dancing on the street corner for nickels.

  1. Ron Paul gives a knew meaning to the word right wing nut job. I’m sure he would feel more at home in a rubber room with four walls and a straight jacket. He always reminded me of the conservative dennis kucinich. Just too weird for words.

  2. Is ron paul a fruit cup? yes
Is he an elitist commie snob like the a-hole in the White House? no
Is he worth mentioning in the same breath as the godess Palin? no
Is ron paul worth money that could otherwise be used to kill furry creatures? no
Is ron paul worth the extra nickle for the name brand foil? no
Is Frank J being petty to ron paul and his supporters? no

That about sums up ron paul.

  3. Ron Paul.
    Ron Paul
    Ron Paul.

I know you’re looking for a long comment thread, but if you don’t say his name 3 times his minions don’t…uhhh… min.

The worst part about him? Like many (big L) Libertarians, you get lulled as he talks and you start agreeing and you’re all into what says.

And then he goes freaking crazy and starts talking about trutherism or privatising the military.

  4. It might be interesting to hear what you have to say once you have actually learned a little. Perhaps try reading the original article. Maybe show exactly how Paul is “in bed” with the truthers (about whom I am withholding judgement. The US has a history of false-flag activity, for instance the Gulf of Tonkin). Try showing how Paul is a racist (even though he has the full support of the president of the NAACP in Texas, Nelson Linder).

    Don’t be so stupid.

  5. Not only is RonPaulRonPaulRonPaul completely wrongtastic and ass-backward on this one, but he oughta know who the country club set is. And Sarah Palin is not it; that’s why his kind can’t stand her — because she’s as real as the rest of us rubes from flyover country.

He just made himself even more irrelevant by attacking her, when he should have been joining forces if he wanted to stay in the game.

But that’s what makes Sarah Palin so awesome: attacks AGAINST her makes her MORE POPULAR with us SarahFans.

  6. “Ron Paul is a nut. I don’t know if that needs repeating, but it feels like it”

The ones that are NUTS are the ones that build up their opinion NOT based on available information BUT based on their feelings.

Yeah, yeah yeah, the same PROPAGANDA, when they can’t find anything about a honest man, they will try and associate him with a certain “RADICAL” group.

We all know why Dr. Paul is being attacked lately, it has all to do with HR 1207 and auditing the fed

[His argument would be a bit more convincing if it only had more caps in it. -Ed.]

  7. (even though he has the full support of the president of the NAACP in Texas, Nelson Linder).

You know who else probably had support from at least one member of the NAACP? George Bush.

As we all know, George Bush is worse than Hitler. And since there’s probably at least one member of the NAACP who supported Bush, then clearly the NAACP also approves of Hitler.

Therefore, Ron Paul is worse than Hitler.

  8. Q. How can you tell an Obamanoid from a Paulbot?

    A. You can’t; they both think their guy is the messiah!

BTW, H.R. 1207 has 271 co-sponsors, almost none of them on the finance committee, which is headed by Bawney Fwank. Red Nanny ain’t letting this one come to the floor.

  9. Unfortunately, your criticisms are comprised primarily of simple insults rather than reasoned arguments. Maybe you are the product of high quality public education. The one criticism that is not a simple insult is that you claim he is in bed with “truthers”. However, you offer no evidence, and as it is difficult to determine what precisely you mean by that statement, it may not be worth rebuttal. However, I will clear the record in one respect, I know that he does not agree in any way with the position of the “truthers” that 9/11 was an “inside job”. He is a strong advocate of transparency in government and he has stated repeatedly that there is no reason not to investigate completely and report honestly on everything that happened related to 9/11. That hardly puts him “in bed” with the conspiracy minded 9/11 “truthers”. If you do not fear the truth then transparency in government is a good thing. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with Congressman Paul. I do not agree with all his positions. However, I try to keep it on an adult level. I believe the seriousness of the challenges facing the US and the world demand that we do just that.

  10. Ummm, calling for another, more “complete” investigation is at the heart of Trutheriness dipstick. Hello? A thorough and complete investigation was conducted.

If people like you and Herr Doktor would just bend over and shove your head up your butt, your worldview would be a hole lot better than it is right now.

Your’s is a scathing indictment about Frnk J’s use of insults instead of reasoned argument, and then goes right into an insult instead of reasoned argument. Nice touch.

If the post isn’t worth a rebuttal, why do you spend six or seven sentences rebutting it? Meds musta run out.

    REVOlution.

  11. Some here like Frank J. (in the initial post) have called Ron Paul “stupid and out of touch”. But that “stupid and out of touch” Ron Paul was the only presidential primary candidate (R or D) who predicted our economic meltdown. The other puppets of the elite laughed at him. Who is laughing now?

Those who have tried to assert that Ron Paul aligns with “Truthers” have to ignore his hundreds of his public responses that clearly debunk such propaganda. Only uninformed idiots will fall for such lies.

I could go on but I’ll stop here as I have more important things to do than to try to pull your heads out of our asses. Go ahead and continue to rally behind the RepubliCrat elite puppet of your choice. I’ll be among those laughing as I watch the lot of you follow them over the cliffs of economic ruin and totalitarianism.

  12. Y’all do realize how spooky this is. I mean, no one seriously thinks that if you say Ron Paul three times the Ronulans appear. Right? Please say I’m right.

You don’t have to say it more than once.

  13. The fact that Ron Paul garners support from anyone is totally amazing. He’s a nut. His followers are nuts. You cannot debate them any more than you can debate a rock. Except the rock has more sense. And better arguments.

  14. The other puppets of the elite laughed at him. Who is laughing now?

Ron Paul laughed at the destruction of America? What a disgusting human being?

P.S. who exactly are these “elites” you talk about? The Asgard?

  15. Basil said:

“Never argue with a nut. He’ll drag you down to his level and defeat you with experience.” – saying I’ve seen posted at several forums.

  16. I saw this at Doubleplusundead’s blog.

    Ron Paul Singles

Yes, that’s right. Ron Paul Singles.

At first I thought it was for real, but then I saw this:
We put the love in Revolution.

Did one of FrnakJ’s personalities get loose? I haven’t seen spacemonkey in a while.

Frank, I am begging you to put this on the main page. It deserves it.

  17. Veesir @29

Did you see the “Ron Paul Revolution” logo over at Ronpaul.com? They put the “evol” in revolution in red and turn the letters around to strangely spell Love backwards.

Is it just me, or is it creepy that the overzealous followers of a 110 yr old man also want a Love Revolution?

    Viva Viagra!

  18. Ron Paul has never accepted a pay raise in Congress; nor does he accept the health care plan provided members congress (he pays out of his pocket for private insurance). Any money left over after he has paid his for office expenses he returns to the U.S. Treasury at the end of the fiscal year. Also, he has never taken a trip (“junket”) paid for by the taxpayers.

If being frugal and honest is crazy, then he’s crazy.

  19. Do you remember that bizarre cult that thought that the world was going to end when the comet Hale-Bopp passed by years ago? They drank the Kool Aide. Literally.

I swear Ron Paul is the spitting image of the guy that led that cult. Can’t remember his name.

Interestingly, there is supposed to be some type of eclipse tomorrow that only happens, like, once in a million bajillion years or something. Could this be the end of Ron Paul and the Ronulans?

  20. I yi yi …. the religio right …..

Here is how the intelligence scale works from low to high ….. democrat – republican – libertarian

There should be no gun / sex / financial / control. Unfortunately idiots like Frank with their erratic thinking and writing miss the point. They always want their little special fetishes to be against the law …why? well just because they say so.

It reveals a fundamental inability to understand the reflexive property of human existance wherein if I get to specify some things as illegal SO DO YOU!

Sheer idiocy frank. You always kind of look light headed in your photos…. but I guess its all about you huh?

  21. Ya know, I have a friend who is a Ron Paul supporter. I like him and all, but I’ve learned not to talk about politics around him because he tends to go off the deep end. He’s like a strange mix of liberal and conservative in that he has chosen the issues that annoys the crap out of the other side and combined them into a supercrappy platform. Ugh.

  22. Funnyguy,

Your comment reminds me of a question asked by Jonah Goldberg: Do you think we should allow the broadcasting of porn on Saturday morning TV?

If not, you are not a libertarian.

If so, you will never be a majority party in America.

    Sounds about right.

  23. helen @ 35

Ron Paul never needed a pay raise. He got over $300 million in earmarks for his dictrict in 2007 alone.

You’re right, the guy is a paragon of fiscal responsibility. (I’ll duck as I’m lambasted about how earmarks are only Paul wanting the money to be transparent, blah, blah, blah.) Of course Paul is all about getting back to the Consitutional mandates on fiscal policy. Though “earmark” doesn’t appear anywhere in the Constitution…

As to Another commenter saying Paul associating with Truthers is just “lies” – the guy has a permanent guest position on Alex Jones show. Alex Jones being the nations pre-eminent Truther. So, yes, Paul has never ‘officially’ said he was a Truther, but he never told a Truther to take a flying leap, and gives credence to their insanity by associating his position as a Congressman with their position as wackos.

A man of impecable principle, as Paul is purported to be, would tell a conspiracist nut where to stick his theories, IF he didn’t harbor the least bit of sympathy for them.

Oh, let’s not forget his infamous newsletter decrying the evil Juice and Zionists. But Paul didn’t know anything about that. In his own newsletter which bore his name. And he never read. For twenty years.

I guess there is some truth to the saying, “Who is the more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows him?”

  24. I checked around, but I didn’t see it elsewhere, sooo…No comments on Teddy Kennedy’s Accidental Adventure? You remember walking on the moon, but forget Mary Jo Kopechne. Teddy’s car has killed more people than Ron Paul’s guns.

  25. Catmman,

Your analysis of my comment was so off base I hardly know where to start. I stand by my statement that the original article was almost entirely insults and not reasoned argument. I did not then inject any insults. I offered reasoned argument. What did you decide to do? You suggest people should stick their heads up the backsides to improve their worldview. Not exactly what I would consider a brilliant repost. Additionally, I did not suggest that a new investigation was called for, rather that there is no reason to fear an investigation, or further investigation. Whether one is actually called for is another issue. Despite your insults, you failed to actually read, or maybe comprehend, my statement that while most of the post was not worth commenting upon, the statement about “truthers” was an actual criticism and deserved response. I believe Congressman Paul is an honorable and honest man. Our country would be better a better place if we had more people that are honest in positions of great responsibility.

  26. I can’t believe there are still Paulbots! I’m not sure if I’m happy or sad. On one hand, they are so entertaining, on the other hand they give libertarians a bad name.

I’ve always wondered, what percent of paulbots voted Obama? 90%? 95%? 99%?

  27. Ron Paul supporters should start taking lines straight from movies… it would make it a little less lame. For instance, instead of “neo idiots that have opposed Paul’s ideas have a good future dancing for nickels on street corners in the coming depression.” he should say “Join me, and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this destructive conflict and bring order to the States. JOIN US or die.”

  28. Forgive the digression, but why does the “Sugar Daddy Dating, establishedmencom ” web ad appear on Ron Paul Posts?
Or does it key in on the mention of Kucinich? (that might explain the ‘Beauty and the Least’ thing Li’l Dennis has going on).
    ~
I appreciate the Ronpaul folks for their sincerity and earnestness on the points we agree on. However, they lent an angry 1930’s German Bierhall vibe to our local July 4th Tea Party that was a bit creepy. I mean, a misspent hatred was palpable at points. For example, I hate illegal immigration, but I blame the politicians that refuse to enforce our borders, not the illegals.
If unemployed Americans were as determined to find work, Texas would have to build a fence around its Northern borders to slow the influx from Michigan.

Let us work to regain our liberty, finding our grit and drive out of love of Liberty, not hatred of tyrants. The tyrant doesn’t mind our hatred, he takes it as a badge of honor. Mockery, however, shakes him to the core. The laughter of free people at the folly of the overreaching statists will drive them back. Keep it up, Frank.
    ~
Decring Palin supporters as ‘elitist’ is defining elitism down to the point that an ‘elitist’ = someone stockpiling less food, tinfoil, pamphlets, and ammunition than a Paulian.

  29. Ron Paul speaks truth.
that is obviously something which the likes of you don’t comprehend.
hence you say he is crazy.
    what else is new ?
    God bless you.

  30. One time I saw a guy in town that was raving about how the sky was blue.
    He spoke the truth.
He said it was the governments fault and that we need to change it back to yellow.
He escaped from a nuthouse not far away.
    What else is new?
    God bless you.
    Rubeus.
    Teh interwebs.

  31. Ron Paul vs. The Philosophically Bankrupt

After reading the name-calling and other non sequiturs from the anti-Ron Paul crowd, I am of the view that their hostility arises less from his opposition to war, or the direction American foreign policy has taken for decades, or any of the other specific programs he has criticized. What troubles them the most is that Paul has a philosophically-principled integrity in what he advocates and that, to challenge him, one must be prepared to deal with him at that higher level.

But modern political discourse long ago gave up on principles, in favor of the pursuit of power as a sufficient end. There is an intellectual bankruptcy exhibited by writers and speakers on the political “left,” “right,” or “middle.” Competing ideas and values that once engaged the minds of thoughtful men and women have given way to little more than pronouncements on behalf of narrowly-defined political programs; the validity of a proposition no longer depends upon reasoned analysis, but upon the outcome of public opinion polls.

Ron Paul’s campaign interjects an energized, principled inquiry into the political realm, an undertaking for which men and women with no philosophic center or rigorous minds find themselves woefully ill-prepared.

  32. DDG@47

From your response to my comment:

“I did not then inject any insults. I offered reasoned argument.

The original insult from your first comment:

“Maybe you are the product of high quality public education.”

This is what you call “reasoned argument”? You are a Pulbot, so perhas you are to be forgiven your cognitive dissonace.

My comment was “not a brilliant repost”? Are you kidding? Didn’t you catch how I called you guys a-holes by suggesting sticking your head up your butts would make your worldview “a hole lot better”? I thought that was a good line…

This is hardly an “article”, it is a post on a blog and responding to a stupid comment like yours is hardly “analysis”. You know, if you guys left your parents basements for just a few hours a day, the fresh air might clear your head a little

  33. Anyone see the new Evony AD? I just glanced at it real quick and my first thought was … why does that guy have tits? I think its her nose… Anyway..

Who is the Ron guy that is on one hand reportedly crazy, and on the other hand genius……. is he a idiot savant?

  34. Catmman

Ron Paul believes in “earmarks”; he calls them tax credits or tax reduction. As long as “earmarks” are transparent, and wisely used in a district.

The Constitution gives Congress the power over the use of taxes.
If Ron Paul doen’t “earmark” (read: return tax dollars to his constitutents), then the money goes to government agencies, notorious for their wasteful and corrupt spending.

Paul didn’t vote for the bailout of GM and Goldman Sacs, for example. He votes for you and me to get our taxes returned to us.
His “earmarks” (tax credits) go through the proper channels, and aren’t secretly slipped into House bills.

One more thing: Ron Paul has refused to accept a government pension when he retires. His respect for taxpayers is profound and rare.

  35. # 60 you have a point but she’s still waaaay better looking then the frightening face on the Zombie Helen No Brains Award (ZHNBA) over on the left. She’s got better curves too. The ZHNBA has to be the most hideous award ever awarded to anyone for anything….ever.

  36. helen@61

You guys are as predictable as Obama’s Marxism.

The guy doesn’t need a pension, he’s been in congress for over 20 years. I’m sure he’s taken care of his needs.

And if Paul is such a tour de force, why are we worse off since he’s been in Congress? He ineffectual. He does nothing. He gets nothing changed. Everything he’s done has been as effective as Obama voting ‘present’.

He’s “the only man who can save America’ and he failed at that as well.

Like the guy if you want, that’s your right. To me, he’s a cranky old coot who’s been ineffective for over two decades and never met a blame America first argument he didn’t like.

You guys realize if you replace ‘Paul’ with ‘Obama’ you sound just like the Obamanoids, right?

  37. He does have a “Bojangles” look to him, I gotta admit – old, skinny, surprising level of physical fitness.

I wanna like the guy, I really do, for all the reasons the Paulbots mention – frugal, honest, etc. Unfortunately, he’s frugal and honest in much the same way my crazy great-uncle was.

  38. I guess the most of you don’t understand that Ron Paul is our best hope for true constitutional government at this time. He understands the corruption in Washington and is leading the fight first by exposing the federal reserve as a sham. If government only did what the constitution limits, what a better place this would be. Protection from force and fraud are the two biggies. Federal government would be a fraction of the scope and size that it is and working people might not realize an income tax, or it would be much smaller. Taxation is slavery.

  39. re: ” MikeLL says: July 21st, 2009 at 9:54 pm
Do you remember that bizarre cult that thought that the world was going to end when the comet Hale-Bopp passed by years ago? They drank the Kool Aide. Literally.”

Not to be persnickety. but Jim Jones’ cult drank Kool Aid & the Heaven’s Gate cult ate apple sauce.

  40. Ron Paul haters are actually quite transparent. they see that he proposes to take away some unearned benefit which they presently enjoy. but they can’t come right out and say that because it would expose their innate selfishness and dishonesty. so they just resort to calling him and/or his supporters “crazy”. this renders any attempt at rational discourse impossible.
