That’s a good question.
As a guy, I sometimes like trains because they are large, powerful and noisy machines that emit loads of diesel exhaust.
Unless they are blocking my road that I am driving on (why yes, I do in fact own the road as my tax dollars paid for it), then trains are a stupid waste of time.
For small children it is the whole as described by Bad science. Trains are actually quite efficient at moving stuff as it can carry great amounts of weight. Liberals want to move people and that is rarely efficient outside of densely populated areas in densely populated countries. America is spread out and people want to go from point D to point W. but trains will only take them from point A to point B.
