What Am I Doing Here?

I had something I wanted to post about, but I can’t remember what now. I’m too young for a senior moment.
Hey, I didn’t do a Haiku yesterday. Here’s one:
I shot the sheriff.
But deputy is unharmed.
How about a plea?

As a former English major and a poetry afficionado (especially of T.S. Eliot and W. B. Yeats), I have to say that your haikus are a classic example of the two old adages:
    1) Those who can’t do, do haiku
    2) Haiku is the last refuge of the self-delusional poet
You’re a good writer—your two essays “A Defense of Violence” and “Peace Proposal” are truly inspired, but in terms of haiku, well…don’t quit your day job. 🙂
