Apparently, there’s a lot of buzz over synchronized smell-o-vision with the new Colin Farrell movie
A theater audience in Japan will be sniffing their noses – literally – at a new Hollywood adventure film when it opens here later this month.
A new service from a major telecommunications company, NTT Communications Corp., will synchronize seven different smells to parts of ”The New World,” starring Colin Farrell.
I don’t know what the big deal is. I was at a Cheech & Chong film festival the other week and they had smell-o-vision working perfectly with all of the movies they showed.
Now that I think of it, maybe there was buzz going on with those films, too.
Just as long as they don’t do this with “Terrance and Phillip”…or any movie from the late ’60’s or early ’70’s…or any movie starring George C Loony….
Or any Adam Sandler movie. I like Sandler movies, but you know there’s going to be a poop joke in there somewhere.
With a Colin Ferrell movie all they have to do is pipe in the smell of booze. How hard can that be?
D’oh! jonag stoled my joke. I guess you could add stale cigarette smoke and the cheap perfume of the chick he bedded most recently.
Jeeze, I hope they won’t do that with prison movies. Or Moore documentaries.
You are right, I think a lot of the Cheech n Chong movies I saw had smell to them. as well as the Song Remains the Same. It also had a tast to it, you were right about the buzz…
Oh those were the days…

First to Say “First!”
Yeah… I wouldn’t want to be around if they put any of Moore’s movies in smell-o-vision.
Everytime I see a picture of him I already smell a moldy hobo, stale french fries (and cheese), and pure fat.
Come to think of it same with Ted Kennedy ‘cept he has river water and cheap booze too.
