The Key to Liberals Communicating with Conservatives

As a treat for Memorial Day Weekend, I have a new article up at Pajamas Media. Liberals keep worrying about how conservatives’ extreme rhetoric could lead to violence, but they never seem to use introspection to draw on their own experiences with extreme rhetoric when making those arguments. It’s almost like they want to be pestering instead of effective.

  1. A good solid read though I would have liked more humor. My single line version:

-Hysterical accusations typically tell you volumes about that persons internal thoughts and not very much about the thing they are pointing at.

  2. Frank, you should bring back the Saturday open thread, but I’ll use this one in any case.

Today, while shopping at a Mart of Wal here in sunny south-central Pennsylvania, I noticed the employees there built a stable for their Amish customers. There were two horses, complete with sweet smelling horse crap, waiting there. Ah, Pennsylvania.

  3. Hey-ohhh, thanks for reminding me why I don’t need to introspect. It’s a fine article, by the way.

Completely of topic: Has anyone noticed the hysteria that is being unleashed by the possibility of new Nuke the Moon t-shirts? Just the other night, the National Geographic channel ran a documentary about what would happen if the moon ceased to exist.

  4. Marko I am pretty sure an IMAO law was passed about the time the 08 primaries ended that until another election season most threads are optional open threads. Its a mutual exchange for the days that Frank is busy or off and just kinda “phones it in.” We keep coming to the site and dont complain and we help get the ball in Frakn G. Floomings head rolling. (or boiling by misspelling his name) We do this because Political truths wrapped in digestible humor take on a life of their own and travel around smacking down liberal sacred cows.

  5. Ah yes…the last liberal sacred cow I saw was in the form of a medium rare t-bone steak, inch and a half thick and smothered in onions and sautéed mushrooms. It was preceded with a tossed green salad and served with a baked potato and a well chilled burgundy. Guaranteed….it’s the best way to enjoy liberal sacred cows

  6. Dang, I wanna eat at zzyzx’sssss house.

    Speaking of sacred cows:

“Daddy, did you milk the cow, yet?”

“No, smart ass, but I did plug the hole.”

“Oh, no, Daddy, you’re not supposed to do that. Green house gases will build up, and…”

    “Mooooooooooooooo.” (wonk)

“You OK, Daddy? I think the hole plugged you!”

  7. Marko….The Amish parking has been a long standing policy for stores in Lancaster County. I managed a large discount retail store in Ephrata for a time in ’74 and we had a large unpaved(the horses like it better) lot for Amish vehicles. Not only did I get to learn the difference between buggies, buckboards, and drays, but it was the only store I managed where I had to assign a guy to round up shopping carts and muck the parking lot. Good times!

  8. Mmmmmmm sacred cow. You know Marko, it is better to spend time scooping horse poop than it is talking to a liberal. You get some exercise and gain humility scooping poop. Talking to a liberal only begets brain damage and the urge to punch a hippie in the face.

  9. Burmashave, I didn’t have time to watch. Did Fred roast a pig and send portions of the carcass to the four corners of the Democratic party?

Sgt Relic, that doesn’t surprise me considering Lancaster County, but I think I’d forgotten how many Amish live in and around the Shippensburg area.

  10. RT for Memorial daze:
-I have a dream that someday in this great nation people of any race or religion who critisize welfare dependence and government spending will be called racist. Because on that day real racism will obviously not be a problem anymore.

    -My new phrase: Apollo-Cheese

-Ill say this I liked Hillarys old and grizzled supporters a heck of a lot more then Obamas baby faced kool-aid drinkers.

  11. In the liberal world,

a liberal calling Bush Hitler is merely constructive criticism and every American’s duty

however, questioning one of Obama’s socialist policies is racist, dangerous, and unpatriotic.

  12. How to tell moderates from radicals:

An example of a reasonable discussion among kind hearted moderates is
whether to disembowel and burn the bodies of conservatives
before or after drawing and quartering them.

Only a hate-filled racist extremist rat bastard cracker would like to draw back the Feds from the current 25% of GDP to the 20% it averaged since WWII.

I’m rather partial to the Amish – they make awesome food – they do support local economies in a lot of places even the more strict groups still buy food staples from local stores. They don’t complain about anyone as they keep to themselves mostly, they’re not hippies. And for that matter during the spike in gas prices after Katrina I knew of places in other states that don’t have Amish that put up hitching posts for citizens who wanted to ride their horses into towns that hadn’t seen horse traffic in decades – because no one wanted to spend $4-5/gallon of gas. Horse-power the original kind – crap and all is less of a problem to clean up than spilled auto fluids in parking lots.

For that matter is there a difference between a covered parking garage and a shelter for horses other than wheels vs hooves?

Wise businesses would save the mucked horse manure and use it for beautifying the plantings around their parking lot – for free instead of spending $ out of pocket on the fertilizers they sell that obviously don’t work given most parking lot vegetation looks like it has reached the vegetative state of life – slightly alive but not living well.

  14. It’s obvious the Left Loser Loons lurch into any discussion to babble incoherently, yet with a feculence only the left seems to be able to respond with!
Everything not Obama-Lama-Ding-dong is disregarded so these losers have nothing to say to add to a discussion and they don’t even clean up their own droppings.
As serious voters we have to remain the party of NO! NO! To all these idiot policies from the subterranean bottom dwellers and left elites that think themselves above us all.

It’s obvious they haven’t answers they just want the power to dawdle over our $$$.

    Remain Hostile!
    Remember November!

  15. @Marko: The interview was O.K. Thompson talked very little about the book. He split the 45 minutes between his political and acting carers. The interview took place at the Russian Tea House in NYC, so it was much too much hoy-ti toy-ti for a pig roast.

@hypoxic: All well and good, but around my area Amish are known for their puppy mills. I’ve seen and heard of some sad cases.

  16. Conservatives go to Washington and become squishy moderates because they want to get invited to cock-tail parties.
They should form their own exclusive party to re-enforce their conservative principles while partying with like minded politicians; preferably at a very exclusive location.
the Conservative Caucus Cock-tail Party, or CCCP.

  17. I will not tarnish Memorial Day by wasting my time thinking about Liberals communicating with Conservatives. Instead, I will reflect on the greatest sacrifice any man or woman could give up for his/her country, and that is their life. I thank all the men and women who gave up their lives for this country, in order for Liberal idiots to breath the air and take up precious space by spouting off their crap. I pray that these men and women are not turning over in their graves to see what this country has become. May God watch over their souls for and eternity.

  18. Burma,
EEK that’s not good. In that case yes I’d be very unhappy with the local populace. Weird given that most of the Amish I know aren’t at all fond of dogs unless they’re used for shepherding their sheep and usually that’s 1-2 dogs per group of 50+ people and the dogs are almost always male to reduce any chance of over populating the area with dogs. Have local animal control tried to fix the problem and can’t prosecute or just don’t bother trying to prosecute?

  19. hypoxic,
I have friends who do dog rescue, and it seems that animal control does play a role. When a breeder is shutdown, the rescue groups foster and place all the dogs that can be rescued. I’m glad to know that this may not be a widespread problem among the Amish.
