It’s your quote of the day from How to Fix Everything in America Forever: The Plan to Keep America Awesome. This one is from “Chapter Two: The Economy”:
The economy is a wild animal. When you put shackles on it, you break its spirit. I remember going to a zoo and seeing a majestic lion just lying there in its cage, a dead look in its eyes. And then the next day I saw in the obituaries that the lion had hanged itself. That’s what regulations do to the economy.
Tell me your favorite quotes from How to Fix Everything in America Forever in the comments.
I must admit, when I pictured your description of a proper POTUS, I couldn’t help but picture Fred Thompson. Man, he would be an awesome POTUS. (He’s also a good actor, so he could do an extra-awesome job of acting like a proper POTUS!)
If the economy is a wild animal then Democrats must be ticks or leeches.
I love ’em all, Frank.
But now I’m tired of working.
@John: I’ve always thought of them as liver flukes, myself.
“This book is dedicated to my awesome friend Shane. I truly wish I could be more like him…”
“We strive to be awesome so that we may one day finally deserve all that this country has already given us.”
Third paragraph from the end of the last chapter.
“Government help is like charity designed by Satan and run by his incompetent nephe Steve”
“If you’ve designed a government that requires smart, competent people to run it, you’ve designed a government that won’t work in the real world.”
I’m cheating off of Glenn, of course, but it’s a great quote. It reminds me of another brilliant funny man who once said, “The system which depends upon the right man is a bad system.”
