I don’t think nuclear armageddon is a realistic expectation as the Iran deal will likely prevent that for another 9 years assuming we dont voilate the terms as Im sure the reasonable and honirabke Iranians will stick to the terms and not nuke anyone until the deal expires.

Read “Shadow of Victory” yet?
Yep; I like it enough to have re-read parts of it already, but I really wanted it to go further. Then again, it is a “Shadow” novel (an Honorverse novel), not an Honor Harrington novel. It’s like a slow-building Tom Clancy novel, and it’s constrained by existing events in that it re-visits the past in more detail and you see some characters more.
I think I read on the Weber forum that this (or is it one more) will be the last of the side novels.
Well we do have a major war to fight and win against the alignment. I reread all the novels before tackling this one. Given what you said about closing off the side novels I can see why it seemed he lumped a lot into one book, tying up many different ends. The Mesa plot line needs to be completed more thoroughly but I guess he might use that a jumping off point to unite the major sub story lines.
