She had an angelic voice, and was quite a good actress on Touched By An Angel.
I admit I was never a big fan of Mel Tillis’ singing but I do remember fondly his Whataburger commercials.

George Young, of Easybeats fame, and brother Malcolm have both died in the last few weeks. I guess none of us stay forever, young.
Stan “the Man” Musial, one of the few baseball players to whom I would apply the description “all-time great”, was born November 21, 1920, in Donora, Pennsylvania, which is also the birthplace of fellow hall-of-famer Ken Griffey, Jr., and Ken Griffey, Sr. Stan’s father played baseball with Ken, Sr.’s father.
Every time I go to a Cardinals baseball game, I stop to see the Stan Musial statue. I went to the Cardinals Hall Of Fame on my birthday 3 years ago and had my picture taken holding his bat (using plastic gloves). Interesting that his bat had nails in it. Apparently they were allowed only so many bats per season, so they had to make them last.
