  1. . . . the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be in fringe applications.

How can we not have the right to assemble things? Doesn’t the First Amendment guarantee the right of the people to freely assemble?

    • (Sidebar to Walrus: This was one of those posts that vanishes from the screen the instant you hit the “Post Comment” button, leaving you staring, wondering where it went and whether you hit the wrong button or something. So be aware that can still happen, apparently — if it chances to happen to you next. I counsel patience. I waited over an hour, and then and did something else, and lo! Here it is, in all its original glory. Maybe the algorithm has a built-in amendment detector and scrutinizes posts with this wording extra-closely. Or maybe I posted at the exact same instant someone else did, and it got shuttled off to a memory holding cache, to reappear when the cache is rebooted. Your guess is as good as mine. The moral is to not take it personally. I hope that’s what it is.)

        • Some perspective from my end . . .
(Now, don’t go making a joke out of that):
          .
I’m not sure what you mean by “dropping your email and name details.”
          .
          My experience is:

          Every single time I comment,
          (1) I have to enter my name (the website does not remember or auto-fill it)

          Every single time I comment,
          (2) I have to enter my email address (the website does not remember or auto-fill it)

          Every single time I comment,
          (3) the screen does not show my proper avatar, or icon if you prefer, until the posting is completed (unlike previously, when I could see my avatar and be reassured that I had been recognized by the system)

          Every single time I comment,
          (4) I have to withstand the scrutiny of you or zzyzx.

          • Which end?

I was referring to the autofill. At work it seems to remember my details without any problems. At home it used to but now it doesn’t and sometimes all I have to do is type the first letter and an autofill screen comes up and sometimes I do have to type out all my information before posting. It is just inconsistently weird.

Would you prefer us not to read your comments? It can be arranged. 😛
