  1. After the movie “Top Gun” came out, fighter pilots (and others) mentioned that you don’t get that close in actual modern aerial combat. They got that close in the movie to get both planes in the same shot. I think it was Spock that mentioned that Khan was manuerving in two dimensions; the Enterprise did a z maneuver and got behind Khan’s ship. (Why don’t they flip around? My guess would be because Gene Roddenberry flew bombers in World War II, but that’s just a guess.)

    Weber with Pope and Zahn mention radiators in their stories set in the earlier days of the Star Kingdom of Manticore. Travis Taylor and John Ringo mention crude Earth space ships having to stop and cool off.

    So, valid points are made, but not unique points.
