Very slightly modified from an actual news story I saw:

Inner-City School Struggles With Transition

(Made-up IMAO News on the March)

As Gaia Sophia (pronouns: she/her) struggles with the news that her city school is transitioning (as she/herself has done), she recalls she was at first in favor of it.

But when she learned the transition was to a new cis-school integration plan, and that her predominantly Black, low-income high school would soon include white students from some of the wealthiest neighborhoods in town, she struggled with her emotions –struggled for words, struggled with her $1.75-per-hour, 180-hour-per-week job, and struggled to proudly relate her stories of other struggles through which she had struggled.  Somewhere, in the distance, a dog barked.  But was it a Republican white supremacist dog whistle?

The hallways at Lower Outer Southern Western East Bay Community Empowerment High on MLBDQ Boulevard are a tapestry of Black, juniper, and puce: the school colors.  The mascot, a Black, juniper, and puce zebra, seems to roar around every corner, howling  “Equity!” down the echoing corridors.

But only for a short time longer.  Or so it seems to the one-time paralegal-trainee rap-critic pharmacist tranny trainee aspirant.

The curriculum at the school has now been updated to expand access and equity and access-equity to advanced-placement courses for remedial-education students: U.S. racist history, Modern Physics, Modern Math, Modern Grammar, EcoNomics, and synthetic art and design. All seemed in place to ensure a mostly peaceful transition to a progressive curriculum.

But there’s a problem. . . .

Friday Night Open Thread: Some Inspiring Words For the Troops

From our best and brightest:

Remarks By President Biden Celebrating Friendsgiving as Part of the Joining Forces Initiative

White House Transcript | West Bay, Hangar 741
, Fort Bragg, North Carolina | 11/22/21

THE PRESIDENT:  I’m Jill Biden’s husband, Joe Biden, as you can see.  [And I totally did not plagiarize that from JFK.]  I continue to follow her.

I just want you to know: When we first were elected Vice President, there was a moment where on — her favorite day of the year is Valentine’s Day, Doc.  And on Valentine’s Day — there is the Old Executive Office Building; it’s directly across from the White House and the Vice — the West Wing and the Vice President’s Office.  And you can look in the windows there, and the press comes down those stairs all the time.

And so, she went and got a ladder.  My schoolteacher wife, my professor — got a ladder.  And the windows are 16-feet high with all these panes.  And at every pane, she put a — she got that stuff you use — the kids use when they’re making posters in school, and she put on a heart.  And it said, “Joe loves Jill.”  She did it on all five windows — four windows across.

So, the press called and said — would I do Valentine’s Day with the — on ABC.  And I said, “Okay.”

And I got on, and we’re getting ready to do the event.  And what happened was — they had the lights out, and we were knee to knee with the reporter who was asking the questions.  And at the (inaudible), she says — while we’re getting ready, she said, “Everybody says you and your wife have a great love affair going.”  I said, “I think so.”

And she looked at me.  I said — jokingly, said, “But everybody knows that I love her more than she loves me.”

And I swear to God, she looked at me and said, “That’s what everybody says.”

Service Members:  Wait.  What?

I just read an ideal nickname for the Biden/Harris administration, which ought to be viral.  It originated in an accidental interpretation of a comment.

Those are the perfect nicknames for them – Sh!ts and Giggles.
