Air America Is Gone

Yeah, I didn’t know it was still on the air either, but now they are gone for good. In light of the blow liberals suffered in the Massachusetts special election, it’s worth once again looking at why liberals don’t do well on talk radio. The point of talk radio is to very plainly state what you believe in. This works well for conservatives as much of what they say boils down to support for individualism and freedom and anger at those who interfere with it — things Americans easily get behind. But liberals views plainly stated scare even most liberals. It breaks down to “Everyone is stupid except for me so I should control everything through government.” That’s a message Americans hate. That’s why in politics liberalism is never plainly stated. They never say they want socialism. They don’t refer to their plans as a government takeover of health care. Unfortunately for them, liberals didn’t hide their intentions enough lately and thus the trouncing in Massachusetts.

So liberals views on the radio are just never going to get a big audience because people don’t want it. For all those who were on Air America, I’d recommend getting a new job making pastries or blankets with sleeves on them — things people want. But don’t make liberal commentary; no one wants that. That’s free job advice from me to help get this economy going.

  1. What, no stimulus bail out? Or is it the useful isdiots are no longer needed?

It always bothers me that Obama, and it started with Clinton, call for “change”, but never say what the change is. Kindas like calling the attacks on 9/11/2001 an event, but not saying what the event was.

Not much of a loss in jobs. I mean, c’mon, how many writers and staff does it take to sasy “Boooosh and joooos bad !!!” 24/7?

  2. TommyTheT, I’ll leave you to guess.

Hello, American right-wing capitalist friends. The brave members of the Imperial Japanese Navy destroyer flotilla have sunk yet another of your little toy submarines!

  3. See, the moonbats don’t work. Given a choice of medium, they’ll choose the bright and flashy. So they lounge around and watch MSNBC and read PuffHo. Put yourself in their shoes bare feet – if you were sitting in your beanbag eating Tofu Crisps and wanting some lefty commentary, wouldn’t you choose the flash of TV or the interactivity of the web over listening to AM radio?

But we sane and sensible people have jobs and can’t give attention to pretty TV graphics. Lots of workplaces allow some radio in the background, so that’s what we do.

Simple, right? That’s why leftoid radio will NEVER work and righty radio will NEVER die.

  4. Free job advice? Frank, free job advice for the former Air America broadcasters?

Frank, is there a single one of them you could name that YOU would consider hiring? With their character, their employment history, and their work ethic? Would they be productive?

It’s lucky for Al Franken he found a paying job, if not an honest one.

  5. I once listened to Randi Rhodes on Air America a few years back. She freaked out for like ten minutes in a hate filled rant against conservatives, then right before she went to commercial break, she shouted into the microphone: “Republicans want to kill everyone! Republicans want to kill everything!”

I thought to myself: Wow, this is a very smart lady.
