Obama weighed in on the Ground Zero mosque… or he sorta did. At first he made it look like he was all like, “Yay! Ground Zero mosque! That’s Muslim-tastic!” But later he clarified his remarks to say he wasn’t talking about the wisdom of building the mosque, just whether they had a right to build a mosque — which no one was disputing. So once again, Obama voted present and was completely useless.
Anyway, my main problem with this issue — which, of course, Obama didn’t weigh in on at all — is that once again we see the opinion of the majority of Americans being completely dismissed by those in power. A lot of people these days find it a lot easier to cover their ears and scream, “Bigot!” rather than actually listening to any arguments on an issue. We have the usual “moderate” Muslim imam involved with this who thinks that terrorism is a complicated issue, but people won’t acknowledge that it might be worth looking into whether Cordoba’s desire to build a mosque close to Ground Zero is on the up and up. There’s a lot of arrogance and bigotry here, and it’s densest and most abhorrent on the left and aimed at the American people at large.
Again, it’s not who is right or wrong on this issue, it’s that people have a right to at least have their opinions considered and not shouted down by petty, useless people. If this dismissive attitude towards America continues much longer, that’s big trouble right there.
Well, I’ve never been of the conspiracy that Obama is a closet Muslim, but mebbe he is a cryptic Muslim. I mean if this isn’t an example of the principle of taqiyya, I don’t know what is.
taqiyya (n) unpronouncable. The Koranic practice that encourages lying to infidels and dhimmis in order to advance Islam and the worldwide dominion of Sharia Law. Most evidenced by Islamic clerics whose comments in English bear not the slightest relationship with the comments they make in Arabic
I think he gets off on policies that the majority of American disagree with. It’s like a badge of honor. I was talking to my husband last night, and it occured to me that having Obama as a president feels like a foreigner came in and is running the place. He has no understanding of Americans and no concept of what it means to be an American. Like he’s not an American in his soul.
I just want to smack that imperious face, always PHYSICALLY looking down his nose at us…with a 60% disapproval rating, he probably figures “oh good, those gun owning/religion clinging/freedom loving people in fly-over country don’t like this – I must be on the right track”
Moron.
“If this dismissive attitude towards America continues much longer, that’s big trouble right there.”
And not just in November, 2010.
Oh there you go, getting all fancy with the foreign language stuff.
Anyone who thinks that I will subject either myself or my daughter to Sharia Law is going to be in for a very unpleasant surprise.
BTW – I like your website, Burmashave. It cracks me up.
Thanks KnitterChick. It’s been that way since ’97. I’m shooting for some sort of longevity record.
You are right FrankJ. You are right.
To put this in context, how do you think all these “freedom of religion” liberals defending the victory mosque would feel about the aryan brotherhood building a fellowship for The First Church of Jesus Christ, Christian across the street from the Alfred P. Murrah building?
On another note, the building site should have been declared an historic landmark when the landing gear from one of the 9/11 planes hit it. I’m getting pretty sick of the “it’s not AT ground zero, it’s two blocks away” argument.
Anyone wonder why they chose the name Cordoba? The name of Islam’s western-most, greatest triumph over Christendom? No, it’s not a provocation. The Arabs dancing on Atlantic Avenue on 9/11 didn’t mean anything by it either. And I won’t mean anything by it when I spray-paint a giant cross and Star of David on the new mosque every week. It’s not hate – I’m just spraying.
The Urban Dictionary is going to define taking back what was said earlier as BarackPedaling.
From President Obama’s remarks Fri Aug 13
“The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country and that they will not be treated differently by their government is essential to who we are. The writ of the Founders must endure.”
Bob Belvedere wrote “I then remembered what one of The Founders wrote and I came to see the wisdom of what Barry stumbled into.”
From John Quincy Adams:
“In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar (mohammed), the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent god; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE…Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. The war is yet flagrant…While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon the earth, and good will towards men”.
“The writ of The Founders must, indeed, endure.”
This is but a highlight of an excellent post, well worth heading over to The Camp of The Saints

Well, what are we – actual Americans – going to do about this?
I guess we’re not going to hear obuma saying that the mosque builders “acted stupidly” (like the Cambridge Police).
My education was light on physics and chemistry but I’m curious how much ANFO it would take to move the mosque from lower Manhattan across the river to New Jersey.
#12 – EnemyoftheState,
on the other hand, if Iran (or any other mooselimb teritzs) never manages to make a workable (IE transportable) nuclear device, I suppose a good second choice would be for them to stuff their ‘community outreach center’ jammed packed full of ‘splody things and then hold Manhattan hostage.
No need to go all McVeigh on their left hand whipping arses when they’re more than willing to do it to themselves.
One possible hint of good news – Our fearless reader DID preface his remarks about the ground zero mosque with the code words “Let me be clear…” which we all know means that whatever follows is a lie.
PS: #10 – Adobe Walls,
Thanks for the quote and the link.
John Q. Adams rocks!
What might be good is to get off the arabs backs and let them them build their mosque.
The when its open and full of terrorists, blow the place up. Level it.
A fake swim in, er, I mean near the gulf, a shout out to the terroriists building a victory mosque near GZ, another (8th, 9th?) vacaion, all in a day for the Moslum-in-Cheif.
Time to build the Ronald Reagan Memorial Military Recruiting Center at Kent state.
Well, some people are stating that most Muslims don’t even want the mosque built near Ground Zero, but Obama indicated that he’s one that does.
The thing about the mosque is that it doesn’t matter if it is being built by the “we honestly don’t want to blow you up” type of Muslims; to the majority of Americans building a mosque so close to Ground Zero doesn’t look like “we’re the nice Muslims”, it looks like “Islam has triumphed over America” and that’s pretty much exactly what we don’t need. My guess is somebody will blow it up regardless of whether there’s actually anything illegal going on in it.
