[High Praise! to John]
John sent me a picture with the following commentary.
My state senator, Tom Davis (R), just posted this on his facebook page. Apparently it is on display at Robert Smalls Middle School in Beaufort, SC (which is of course a public school).

It’s a little hard to read, since penmanship is apparently less important than socialist propaganda in the public education system, but it says:
“You can’t have capitalism without racism”
And you can’t have progressivism without tacky, talentless, pedantic paint-slatherings masquerading as “art”.

So what’s your point? It’s all over but the screaming, anyway. Beating the dead horse. So sad, we had such hope back in the day. Yesterday.
“The party of Lincoln which unshackled the necks of four million human beings.” In his campaign speeches he [Robert Smalls] said, “Every colored man who has a vote to cast, would cast that vote for the regular Republican Party and thus bury the Democratic Party so deep that there will not be seen even a bubble coming from the spot where the burial took place.” Later in life he recalled, “I can never loose [sic] sight of the fact that had it not been for the Republican Party, I would have never been an office-holder of any kind—from 1862—to present.” Robert Smalls
Hey all you kids at Robert Smalls. 🙂 Guess what? Guess again. 🙂 Yes! Your parents are racists. Yay. So is your teacher, and all the other employees at your school. So all y’alls Smalls minds have a nice day.
In full discloser, the school pulled the picture saying that it was “time to rotate the artwork”. Also, the only problem they seemed to have with the ‘artwork’ was the student didn’t attribute the quote to its source, America lover and patriot extraordinaire Malcolm X…
Poverty seems mighty “racist” too……
According to Wikipedia, Tom Davis was once Mark Sanford’s chief of staff, and endorsed Ron Paul for President in 2012. After seeing Harvey’s post, neither of these things surprises me.
Iowa Jim,
I should have been clearer in my email to Frank J’s more likeable alter ego, but Mr Davis called on the county to remove the painting. He is a total Ron Paul !!!!eleven!!1!11 supporter, and he’s endorsing Sanford for Congress right now, but he got this one right.
