It’s equally odd that nobody ever blames the black people who lived in what is now Nigeria, Benin, etc., who rounded up the slaves and sold them to the British, who brought them here. And odd that I’ve had British (specifically, English) people try to lecture me about America’s race problem, to which I have responded, “You’re right. We’d be much better off if the British had never established slavery here in the first place.”

Western culture was the firt to completely abolish slavery. As a result it’s the only culture where people are free enough to blame us for it.
And let’s not forget that the person who established chattel slavery in North America, Anthony Johnson, who was black.
