He seems to be a clever fellow who likes to stir things up. I have no big problem with his statement – though the crazy white guy in the cabin is mostly a straw bogeyman created by the progs. But the questioning tweet down in the right…
1) How can you be “lenient” about a right? Is allowing your neighbor to speak being lenient about the right to free speech? Or is it being civilized?
2) Being mostly white myself, I’d be even more adamant about my basic right to life and its protection and thus the 2A if I were a random target. People who get guns to randomly kill anybody are psychopaths. From whom we all should protect ourselves. Which brings me to:
3) He implies that people are indeed getting guns to kill random non-white people. Implying both intent and randomness. People get guns for any number of reasons, but rarely do so to kill, say, a black person based on a coin flip. And to suggest that, say, black people are in any great numbers being gunned down at random, with no underlying reason, with no back story and thus with no greater significance than their color and their randomness is frankly belittling, paternalistic and not a little bit racist.
The thing is most 2A supporters are in favor of enforcing gun reasonable gun regulation. 2A opponents don’t care about this any more than they care about immigration laws. In fact, enforcing existing gun laws is plainly racist, that’s why we need new laws.
