Did you know that a third party can generate a remote pickup at your house that authorizes Fedex to take a package from your home even if it does not contain a label?
I had this happen when a former employer sent FedEx to my home to pick up a company laptop that I had hand delivered a week before. Fedex came on to my fully enclosed porch, took a package (that was actually a box of prescription diapers for an autistic foster child) and left. No signature, no communication, just straight up stole a brown box from my porch because they had been issued a pick up order that said there should be a box to pick up.
It’s a miracle that I was even able to figure out what had happened.
So if you want to go fishing for those tasty Amazon black Friday deals, I’m sure some of the smart among us can figure out how to get FedEx to do their dirty work for them.
What’s better is that Fedex told me that I didn’t have a right to know who it was that generated the pickup at my home, and the only way I figured it out was that I had advanced knowledge that the employer might have created the request.
You mean they can’t rely on a fake, partisan dossier to obtain a warrant like the FBI?
Here’s your package sir, also anything you say to me can and will be used in a court of law.
