NASA is planning to launch the first spacecraft that will “touch the sun“.
I can see it now…. 7 years and 1.5 billion dollars later: “it’s hot”.

I heard robots will be manning the spacecraft and will become the very first Solar Kamikaze’s.
Yes, but has anybody asked the sun if it wants to be touched? #MeToo
“Okay, Sun, show me on this…this gigantic, featureless yellow ball where the bad rocket touched you.”
Sun: “You see that little black spot right over there? That’s my right testicle. Over there is my left one. And those solar flares you are always seeing is my..uh..uh..I have to go now.”
If by ‘Touch the Sun’ they mean get a few million miles away, like probably around Mercury’s orbit, then yes. If they mean actually touching the Sun, then no.
Not only somewhat hot, it also generates a massive amount of electromagnetic energy. so you won’t know that your satellite melted because it already fried the electronics
I say, leave the Sun alone, you won’t like it if you make it angry.
