Walrus and Interns Make Grand Entrance Into Las Vegas

(Raquel, for unknown reason, opted for alternate transportation.)

You know, I must give Walrus a high-five for his dedication to the cause: I’ve looked ahead into the future posts that he left behind, and darned if he didn’t remember you MoonNukers while he’s at the gaming tables. His presence will still be felt when he’s gone — who could ask for anything more?

Lady Luck smile, and more, on him! That is the PG version.

  1. I’m heading there next month, so don’t win all their money. What the heck, win it all, they have a month to recoup. My rental car is usually a 1968 Rambler with an 8 track player, so I won’t fit the profile of a card counter.

    • Thanks for the vote of confidence. I actually prefer to win reasonable amounts and stay under their radar. I’m happy if the tables pay for the trip. I mostly play blackjack at the middle to larger casinos. They have better rules and can better afford losses to players here and there, so far less hassle or scrutiny. Plus, they have bigger players who will draw far more attention than I ever will. My friends who have been barred were all asked to leave smaller casinos, but they still play at the larger ones. Nothing like the nonsense Hollywood movies, no burly security escorts or beatings or anything. The bosses were polite but firm, and even said my friends could stay in the casino as long as they played anything else.

Counting is a plus, but no guarantee. I was playing at a double deck game a few years ago. When they got to what I figured would be the last hand before the shuffle, the count was +17. Flush with high cards, no pun intended. I increased my bet fivefold. As luck would have it, everybody else at the table had 20 or blackjack, the dealer had a face card up, and I’m staring at a 15. Talk about pick your poison. And no surrender. Yuck. Right idea, wrong seat at the table. LOL
