Here’s the real problem with the idea of “cultural appropriation”. When something is appropriated, it is taken from someone and they no longer have it. E.G. if I appropriate your car, you don’t have it any more.
So how do I “appropriate” your culture? If I wear clothes inspired by your culture, are you no longer able to wear your clothes? Etc.
