Friday Night Open Thread — Means What It Says

Me:

A lot of people say that it is a blessing in disguise that Trump did not get a second term in 2020, as that would have subjected him to four more years of the same obstruction he put up with in his first term.

I agree.

It took four years for even the dimmest among us to see that the Democrats suck at running the country — Bigly. And now he has a mandate.

  1. Alert🚨

The 1999 movie Captain Jack starring Bob Hoskins does a terrible job recreating the Billy Joel song of the same name.

“It’s like they didn’t even try to stay faithful to the source material!”
-John Hughes, director of Pretty In Pink

  2. A lot of Trump’s first term was reacting to events. This term he is creating the narrative.

Ronald Reagan once said (honestly, he probably said it more than once, but idiom is idiom,) “It’s amazing what you can accomplish if you don’t care who gets the credit.” At the start of Trump’s first term, I thought Trump’s view was that he didn’t care what got accomplished as long as he got the credit. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats could have exploited that weakness to enact their own policies, but instead chose to not just oppose Trump, but to vilify him at every opportunity.
Now look at him– no quarter given, and the American people rallying behind him.

  3. Why is it that the only website I can’t connect with while using a VPN is a bank? That makes zero sense to me. If I turn off the VPN, no problem getting access, but that also means it’s easier for criminals to rip me off.

  4. Just in case you were wondering…
“But Ottawa has announced a $1.3-billion border-security upgrade to deal with that Trump complaint.”…so we tighten up the border which should mean less guns coming in, less drugs being moved back and forth, less illegal border crossers..it was the “get off your ass and lets both keep our neighbourhood safe” wake up call that was needed..just imho..” the above comment I made and I stand by it…Scotty T
