Virginia town at war over sex offender claiming he was transgender to spy on women in locker room

A Virginia town is at war over a sex offender claiming he was transgender to spy on women in a high school’s locker room.

Outraged parents in an affluent Virginia suburb are facing fierce criticism for questioning transgender bathroom policies after a registered sex offender allegedly exploited them to watch young girls undress for months.

The controversy began after Richard K. Cox, 58, a convicted sex offender, was arrested in December for allegedly spying on women while naked in the female changing rooms at Arlington’s premium aquatic center, which shares facilities with Washington Liberty-High School.

But now parents who voiced concerns about Cox are facing fierce backlash from activists who are defending the school’s policy.

At a January 30 Arlington school board meeting, supporters of the current policy launched a fierce defense of rules allowing men to use women’s facilities if they identify as transgender – even after the disturbing incidents came to light, as reported by 7 News.

‘The gender identity of the person who entered the pool locker room is completely irrelevant to this conversation,’ Amy Kilala, a mother of two young children, said at the school board meeting, as reported by the outlet.

‘If the same individual had exposed themselves in the other locker room, that would be an equally egregious breach of safety,’ she added.

Another speaker insisted that since the pool is open to the public, anyone should be free to use whichever locker room they choose.

APS Superintendent Francisco Durán responded to the scandal by doubling down on the district’s commitment to ‘inclusive’ policies for those who ‘identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.’

His statement emphasized creating ‘safe, welcoming spaces’ but made no mention of the months during which young girls were allegedly exposed to a sex offender in their changing rooms.

Two of my favorite things in the world are reducing the size of government and watching leftists cry in thwarted frustration. We almost never see the former, and there’s not nearly enough of the latter to suit me.

So I won’t pretend the last couple of weeks haven’t been fun. It’s amazing to watch Democrats wail and gnash their teeth at Elon Musk and his team of autists ferreting out government waste. A handful of nerds have lifted up the mossy rock of federal bureaucracy, and now we can see all the slimy little creatures hiding underneath.

Grandpa Joe has dementia, so the neighborhood kids were running around the house after nabbing the keys to the liquor cabinet.

See? B.S.

The truth comes out about the Kamala Harris interview.

Here’s what “60 Minutes” included from that answer:

“In the last four years I have been vice president of the United States and I have been traveling our country and I have been listening to folks and seeking what is possible in terms of common ground. I believe in building consensus. We are a diverse people — geographically, regionally, in terms of where we are in our backgrounds and what the American people do want is that we have leaders who can build consensus. Where we can figure out compromise and understand it’s not a bad thing as long as you don’t compromise your values to find common sense solutions. And that has been my approach.”

But what “60 Minutes” ultimately aired was actually a spliced and diced mashup of two separate answers that Kamala offered, first to the direct question as to why her positions have changed and then to a follow up question about whether it was a matter of “evolution or, as your critics say, opportunism.”

The program did not air the more critical follow-up question and omitted most of what Harris said in response to the initial one, including a flippant remark wherein she said, “First of all, a lot of the positions that you’re talking about have been discussed and dispensed with in 2020, four years ago.”

New York Times reportedly received millions in funding from U.S. government
Tribune | 2/5/25

Right-wing journalist Ian Miles Cheong recently sparked controversy on X (formerly Twitter) by revealing that the U.S. government has provided tens of millions of dollars to The New York Times (NYT) over the past five years.

According to Cheong, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services was the largest contributor, providing $26.9 million, while the National Science Foundation followed with $19.15 million. Notably, the U.S. government allocated $4.1 million to the NYT in August 2024 alone.

Cheong raised concerns about this funding, suggesting that it was used to “prop up” a struggling newspaper that publishes content aligned with certain political agendas, such as pro-Ukraine, anti-Trump, and anti-Elon Musk narratives. He further claimed that the timing of this funding coincided with key political events, including the onset of the war in Ukraine and the 2024 U.S. presidential election cycle. To back his claims, Cheong posted screenshots of funding receipts from USAspending.gov, a government platform that tracks U.S. federal spending.
