  1. “THE PROTESTORS”

They strive to find meaning, in a “worship” of sorts–
Their lives drifting in populous seas.
So they seek out a “prophet”, which the public reports,
Embodies what they’d like to be.

They find thrills and adventure in the heat of the crowds–
The destruction of better men’s’ works.
But the rush of the riot somehow never allows,
Any questions about their own worth.

Some of “Paul”, some of “Bama”, some of “somebody else”,
    These slackers and slouchers unite,
For a devilish “tryst” with so-called “common goals”,
They are really just whores of the night.

So they all go a’whoring in search of the “truth”,
They make “statements” in garbage each day.
But unless they learn SOMETHING, they will squander their youth,
For cheap “pleasures” which soon fade away.

Then broken, corrupted, and drunken, they learn,
That their “Sage” was a fraud from the start.
That in all their “protesting” they never did earn,
Even one “truth” to keep in their hearts.
