Because IMAO is where you go to discuss things, here’s an open thread for the debate tonight. Obama knows he sucked in the first one, so what sort of crazy Obama will get tonight who tries to make up for that? Who knows — but I’m excited to find out!

“Well of COURSE the math adds up…” Game, set and match to Romney. Way to slam that back into Candy’s face!
Romney just manned-up and said he won’t give amnesty to illegals and he won’t give licenses to illegals. He said it directly to someone (Hispanic) who asked about what to do about those here without green cards.
Obama is now lecturing about Ellis Island and why people came to the USA. LOL and he’s also saying we’re a nation of laws, and he can’t do more because he’s not getting cooperation from Congress.
That’s the short version of that question.
Why did they bother installing a clock? Bambi just spoke for five minutes without interruption. They actually shut off the clock.
To clarify, he said he’s sought cooperation from Congress but has at other times in the debate that he can’t get stuff done because of Congress.
Romney said he’d also implement e-verify (or a verification process, I can’t remember exactly how he phrased it).
Obama also just blatantly lied about about the AZ law and played the race card.
Obama just stepped up, interrupted Romney, and Crowley told Romney to make it short because people were waiting. Then Obama interrupted again and Crowley told Romney to sit down.
Ah, the Libya question. OMG Bambi is so full of it!
Re Libya: Who was it that denied enhanced security and why? – Direct question just asked.
Barack began by talking about how the diplomats are his diplomats, too. He said his response to Libya was to enhance security and hunt down who did it. He knocked Romney for his press release about Libya, and talked about Bin Laden.
Then he says he ultimately takes responsibility for it. That is a big deal. He took responsibility, and that might just save him from more scandal I bet.
Not that he should be spared but I think he will be.
Note to Barry: the Second Amendment wasn’t written for hunters. It was written for citizens who may have to someday face government armed forces. Therefore, AK-47’s may be required for this effort.
“Mr. President, how will you keep assault weapons out of the hands of criminals?”
“Well, I shipped as many as I could to Mexico. What more do you want?”
OK, you lazy slackers. I did watch the debate for a while (hooray for the DVR!).
Anyway, it was kind of annoying, mostly when Obama brought up his imaginary crap, but also every once in a while when there was a bunch of unnecessary drama. While I know drama sells, addition of unnecessary drama led to the demise of 24, and probably had a good deal to do with the cancellation of Firefly to boot. So I hate unnecessary drama with the fire of a billion burning suns. Which Jack Baur would have kicked the crap out of during the first or second season, or Firefly would have flown around with ease.
Still, I chose to watch until Obama tried a Biden grin. Seeing Obama’s tan teeth shows that he smokes way more than me, and I smoke a pack or two a day. Or he never brushes his teeth, and that’s just gross, and unbecoming for someone who gives a crap, or is the President.
So there’s my take.
I’ve been busy taking out the garbage and haven’t watched.
Candy is letting Obama have the floor at will whenever he wants. Literally. Obama just stands up and says, “Candy” and then she makes Romney stop. I’m not making this up. Romney is actually standing for this. Also, Mitt just let Obama SCHOOL him on Libya and was left fumbling. He looked weak. That was a BIG moment and a HUGE opportunity lost.
Mitt needs to stand up, literally and figuratively and take this back.
Has anyone made a list of how many things Romney has promised to do “On Day 1” so far?
Romney is taking a lesson from Napoleon, “If your enemy is making a mistake, don’t interrupt him.”
Last question finally mentioned ‘the 47%’ but Romney was ready for it. Oo-Rah!

The republican said things;the democrat said things; the organizer said things;the businessman said things;both men called each other liars. Also, all the questions were from “undecided” voters. Which tells me they have all been in a coma for the past 10 years! How can anyone be undecided this late in the game? Is someone really just waiting for that one crucial piece of info to swat them? HFS!
Gosh I am so pissed at Mitt. He looked weak at times and he really missed on Libya. That was THE opportunity. If he loses the election, that was the moment it happened. I really am that disappointed.
OMG Obama just said, “I believe in self reliance.” LOL
He then said that giving “a fair shot” is how the middle class was built. He really doesn’t get it.
Obama did the better job. Hands down. Pains me to say it but he did very well and I think the polls will show it. Sorry to say it. Mitt looked weak.
Carolyn, it only looked that way because Obama did such a good job of lying his face off. I’m suprised we didn’t see his tongue trying to escape his mouth to get away from all the lies.
Here’s how they should do the last debate.
Get a trained chicken in a cage.
Every 5 minutes a light goes on in the cage and the chicken pecks a lever to get a food pellet.
The lever switches off one candidates microphone and turns on the other one.
They can talk about any d*mn thing they want to while their microphone is on.
The candidate whose microphone is off can write graffiti on a white board while the other candidate is speaking, if he wants to.
Any candidate can get a bonus 5 minutes if he’s willing to kneel in broken glass while he speaks.
Loki believe me it pains me to say what I said. You’re absolutely right and I would add that it looked that way because CROWLEY lied about what the Pres said about Libya. We know better. But many out there don’t. And that could cost us. Are you watching Krauthammer on Fox? His analysis is perfect as usual.
Carolyn…did we watch different debates? I saw Obama just hanging on the whole time, not winning.
I suppose in comparison to his last debate, he looked like superman. But trust me, Obama didn’t win anything. Romney did fine. He could have done better, but he didn’t flub this one at all.
Also keep in mind…the questions were mostly favorable for Obama, which is generally the case in these town hall setups. And I do mean “setups”. I do not like town hall debates because they are too easy to manipulate.
Even then, Romney did fine and Obama didn’t accomplish much.
Well let’s just hope people see it your way.

So maybe someone here can tell me. Who is Candy Crowley and why is she an appropriate choice as a moderator for the 2nd debate? Surely they could have found another journalist who’s name is Muffin, Buffy or Tiffany? Take notes those of you who can still pro-create. This is why picking a decent name for your child is soooooooooo important.

According to Obama, S.B. 1070 makes it legal for Arizonans to grab anybody we believe to be an illegal immigrant and pull down their pants then march them down the street while laughing at them. That’s just dishonest. S.B.1070 only gives us the right to do that to anyone we suspect are hippies -and that’s not even enforced.
No one is willing to touch a hippie’s pants.

As with Biden’s performance, Obama won if you have no concept of the facts, which is the undecideds. But luckily there are actually very few undecideds who will be voting — people just don’t like being called racist, so they say they are undecided.
Libya was a mess. Romney fell face first into a carefully set trap of Obama’s deceitful parsing, aided by Crowley’s inept clarification, Obama’s request for repetition, and the Dem applause praising the deception.
However, the most interesting take I’ve heard is that this will actually work against Obama as people will debate Libya and his parsing or lying even more until the next debate, giving Romney an opportunity to zing a little zinger then.
Don’t let one misstep by Romney cause you to call it for Obama.
Romney was once again in control of the facts, Presidential in style and manner, and confident.
Obama was canned, stammering and sometimes off-point. And I think people could see through the pre-planned attack wherein Crowley held up the transcript at Obama’s request (funny how they were coordinated like that).
And I agree, now, because of that, everyone is talking about Benghazi, and the Administration’s response to it… it will redound to a win for Romney on that issue, to.
So, not only on style but on points, the evening goes to Romney.

The media seem to like that “I don’t check my pension, it’s not as big as yours” soundbite from Obama. However, that statement begs a couple of points:
1. If Mitt has a bigger pension, he must be pretty good at making, saving, and investing money. Obviously better than the president. Mitt sounds like the kind of guy who should be running the country.
2. If Obama doesn’t keep track of his pension, he doesn’t keep track of his own money. How can he keep track of taxpayer’s money? Oh, wait he can’t. $16 trillion dollars says he can’t.
That one ‘zinger’ from president dingleberry alone says who we should all be voting for.
Did anyone catch the fact that the president said that when Benghazi was happening that he was on the phone with his NSC? Here’s a question for you all to consider. Why is that the ambassadors entire security detail not dead along with the ambassador? Why didn’t the ambassador have a protective detail? Why is it that two former SEALS in the area and not assigned to protect the ambassador are dead and State dept Diplomate Protective Services are not? The freaking ambassador had NO personal protection detail. Obama is going to get wiped out in the foreign policy debate. State Dept says they were viewing the attack real time (probably by advanced “keyhole” sattelite). Am I to believe they weren’t passing the info to the NSC real time? Am I to believe that the NSC didn’t pass the info to the president real time? Again, why didn’t this ambassador have a security team with him?

Do you listen to Mark Levin at all? He had a former CIA operative on the show the other night talking about exactly this. It was Tuesday’s show if I am correct. Maybe Monday’s if you care to look it up. Anyhow, the guy was detailing exactly how the protocols work with this kind of thing and absolutely they all knew real time – per this source.
And why didn’t he have security? I’ve heard libs trying to say that he knowingly was traveling without it and so ‘we have to wonder why he’d make that choice’ – as though it’s his fault.
