And You Thought Being a Drunk Was Easy

I go to a liquor store, and Jack Daniels looks to me like just another brown liquor in a glass bottle.

Nope.

It takes wooden barrels – thousands and thousands of wooden barrels – to make the stuff.

This is their story.

A Moment With Joe Biden: Romney Hates Women

[by Son of Bob]

And now, a moment with Joe Biden…

BIDEN: …but folks, you know if Mitt Romney became president he would put women in binders. And, I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a binder, but I know I wouldn’t want to be put in one. My good friend Ted Kennedy, God bless ‘im, he took me into his office one time and he had these binders he showed me that women used to be put in, and it was frightening. Frightening! And, that’s what they want to do to you. They want to put you in binders. And, they want to repeal Lilly Bedwetter. One of the first things Barack did when he got into office was pass Lilly Bedwetter, a law to help women in this country. Because women have special health issues that men don’t have, and no one cares more about helping women in America and around the world than my boss, Barack Obama. And, Mitt Romney wants to repeal that law. He wants women doing laundry and having to clean those soiled sheets every day…

This has been a moment with Joe Biden.

This Sign Should Be on the Front Door of Every Everything Everywhere

You borrow 16-trill and what do you get?

Obama’s campaign has raised a billion dollars. That’s actually a lot of money. More than I made last year.

So, if he’s raised a billion dollars, why did they need to borrow $15-million from Bank of America?

Could it be that he’s spent more than he’s brought in?

Where else has he done that?

Oh, yeah.

Straight Line of the Day: The Democrats’ Latest Get-Out-The-Vote Effort…

Works like this: I feed you Moon Nukers a straight line, and you hit me with a punch line in the comments.

The Democrats’ latest get-out-the-vote-effort…

Foreign policy

The conventional wisdom is that Obama has the edge in tonight’s debate. No, not because a liberal “news” person is moderating it, but because foreign policy, the topic of the debate, is supposed to be Obama’s strength.

I suppose it’s because he personally killed Bin Laden with his bare hands.

But, I see an advantage for Obama for another reason: Who knows more about foreign things than a foreigner?

Endorsements

This late in the campaign, the endorsements are coming out. Recently, Mitt Romney picked up the endorsements of The Orlando Sentinel, The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch, and The Tampa Tribune. The biggest news out of these is that the Orlando paper had endorsed Obama four years ago.

But, the president isn’t without his supporters. He’s picked up three endorsements, too. And these endorsements carry a lot of influence. Obama has the support of Hugo Chavez, Raul Castro, and Vladimir Putin.

We’re still waiting on the all-important Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Kim Jong-un endorsements. Wonder who they’ll support?

What’s on the iPod?

I have one of those little iPod Shuffle thingies. It’s a small thing I can wear. Fits under a tie nicely. The headphones — I think they call them earbuds — work great for me. And, the music I hear helps me through the day.

What’s on it? Classical music. There are a couple of collections — The World’s Most Relaxing Classical Music Selections, 50 Essential Pieces of Classical Music — as well as all nine of Beethoven’s symphonies. It’s what I want to hear. Sometimes, it’s what I need to hear.

I wonder, though: what do others listen to?

For instance, what’s on Barack Obama’s iPod? Or Joe Biden’s? Or Paul Ryan’s? Or Mitt Romney’s?

I doubt Obama is listening to a playback of his first debate with Romney. Or his second, for that matter. I wonder what music he listens to. I imagine that in late January, he’ll have The Silhouettes’ Get A Job playing. But what about now?

What do you think? What’s on Obama’s iPod? Or what’s on the iPod of some of the others?

Volcano Mystery Finally Solved

A team of University of Southampton geologists say they have uncovered the “trigger” mechanism that causes volcanoes to erupt.

Turns out it’s Al Gore angering the volcano gods by blaming eruptions on global warming.
