A couple of points. Most of the issues are technical in nature and certainly can be over come. The money issue is odd since he doesn’t envision anything but a government funded effort. Given the proper incentives a private venture might give it a go. The biggest real obstacle is the biological one. Humans have evolved to fit an Earth like environment. Long term exposure to unEarth like environments are extremely unhealthy. That seems to be what we need to really address, especially if we want to go past the moon and explore the universe.

We need to kill the moon before it kills us. NUKES
