A Few Things to Get Off My Chest

Man, that Mandela tirade pissed me off. He’s supposed to be a respected statesmen, but then he gravely insulted all of America with a bunch idiotic ramblings that make some of our peaceniks look sane. I mused how I wished the Whitehouse would respond, but the actual thing Ari Fleischer said was just some bland statement about how people think differently on these issues. I know one is supposed to be diplomatic, but I think this was cause enough for some righteous indignation. Mandela should have no respect by the U.S. after being that loony, and we, the American people, should be calling for his head.
Also, I hate the word “meme.” I can’t describe why; I just do. I’ve hated it ever since I first saw it. I tried to use it once to try and fit in with the cool blogging crowd, but then that just made me hate myself. It’s a stupid word and I hate it.
That is all.

  1. Frank’s right. The blogging world needs to drop the solipsism already and stop saying MeMeMe all the time. That’s SO 80’s! The 80’s were the “Me” decade, people. That’s two whole decades ago (nearly Frank’s whole lifetime!!). Stop thinking only about yourselves and drop the MeMeMeMe usage to a dull roar.

  2. Be nice to Nelson – he probably got hold of some of those generic drugs South Africa is making. See what happens when you try and screw around with the drug company’s secret recipe? Just wait – they’ll try to rip off Coca-Cola and end up blowing Johannesburg off the map.

  3. The word ‘meme’ does sound weird and half baked to me too but it does carry a meaning that is not easily captured by other words.
I use the word only for thinking.
BTW – have you every tried enumerating the words you use to think? Try it. You’ll be surprised how few words your thoughts are structured on.
The exercise above is only for level-three geeks.
A level-three has a pocket protector in both shirt pockets and spectacle lenses 2.5 inches thick. He also suffers from a daily wedgie delivered by his younger sister.

  4. LOL, I hate my mother-in-law aka ME ME! I typed in I hate MEME and this site came up.
Made me feel better knowing others hate that name too. Too bad she won’t allow my kid to call her Grandmother, since she is a ole hag anyways
