If you haven’t seen this yet, it will almost make you feel sorry for Arianna Huffington. She tries to ignore the discussion about Marco Rubio to mindlessly attack Giuliani like some little yip yip dog — for no reason other than I guess it’s her nature as a mindless liberal — and then gets raked over the coals for it:

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

She really seems like some bad SNL character who doesn’t quite understand English or what anyone else is saying; I’m not sure how anyone else takes her seriously.

Anyway, is there a better example of an effective politician than Rudy Giuliani? Pretty much it’s always debatable how much a politician has to do with anything (most of a politician’s success is linked to the economy, and it’s always unclear how much politicians can influence that), but it’s pretty clear New York City was horrible when Giuliani came into office and he cleaned it up tremendously and it stays that way today. With the huge disparity between pre-Giuliani NYC and post-Giuliani NYC on things like crime and debt, it’s pretty much an objective fact he was a great mayor of NYC. Of course, how else could Republicans keep winning in a city that’s six to one Democrats?

  1. Rudy Giuliani is awesome. Any guy who can turn NYC around like he did has to be awesome. Fred Thompson / Rudy Giuliani is my dream ticket. Emphasis on the dream part.

Arianna Huffington is a little yip yip dog. Apologies to any little yip yip dogs I might offend with that comment.

  2. Whenever I hear Arianna Huffington speak I keep expecting a cameo by Mr. Haney, Sam Drucker, or Arnold Ziffel… Of course that’s just crazy ridiculous because Arnold Ziffel was a solid conservative and would never be seen with the likes of Huffington.

  3. See the problem here is Rudy made 2 mistakes, he supported someone who was very good at two jobs, fighting crime and covering them up and he didn’t win the presidency.
People who make mistakes like that are pretty much never listened to again by anyone on the left. Case in point Edward Kennedy chose a girl who couldn’t swim to ride in his car then, later lost the presidency. Who on the left ever listened to him again after that?

  5. I can see the left is all in a wad because conservatives are winning. the ferigners are just all in a huff because they may not get socialism pushed through any farther. Which why I am surprised a rino like Giuliani would endorse a conservative like Rubio.
And of course the broad had to take a cheap shot, shes a parasite, they can’t argue facts.

  6. I think Arianna would be wise to consider returning to whatevah Euro ShiteHole from which she originated. Cause in the next 12 months… things are going to get very very uncomfortable for her and her kind.

  7. America could have been saved had Iowa and NH not been the first two states in the primaries. We really really need to mix that schedule up. I was not a big Giuliani fan (Donated to Paul) but at a time when even Clinton seems more tolerable the G-man sounds great.

  8. Difference between Coulter and Huffster is that Coulter is using the lefts own inward dialogue and exposes it outward for the paranoid hyperbole it is. On the other side Arianna like all lefties/blindly emotional people are unable to understand the difference between hyperbole-emotional rants and real news.

  9. That was some of the the sloppiest backpedaling I have seen in a while. Make a low blow that has nothing to do with the subject, oh I know, I’ll throw waterboarding in for good measure. Yeesh

  10. “Is there a better example of an effective politician than Rudy Giuliani?” Oh, NOW you love him! When I was trying to tell all you rubes that (as the lone New Yorker on this site) in ’07, all I got was heaps and heaps of scorn. Yeah, that Fred Thompson really showed ’em…
