Nuke the News: Bitterly Clinging to Attacks on Religion

* Obama is apparently dumber than we thought. He knew that forcing religious organizations to pay for contraception — and abortifacients — would be controversial, but he thought it would play out as, “This is about contraception; no one finds contraception controversial anymore.” Of course, it’s played out as religious liberty issue, which is huge deal to Americans. But Mr. Bitter Clinger isn’t really in tune with Americans, so it caught him by surprise.

Obama: no useful experience or abilities, arrogant, and completely out of touch with the concerns of regular Americans — I’m starting to think he might be a bad president.

* Government dependence has shot up 23% under Obama. He probably considers that a success — “Look at how many more people government is helping!” — but he’s an idiot. And now that’s just another obstacle to cutting government; you get people dependent on it, and then they’ll freak out like a guy going through withdrawal if you try to take it away.

We have a lot of problems with our government in this country, and we’re not going to fix it without some sort of long term plan. Does anyone running actually offer that?

* Liberals now love drone strikes and keeping Gitmo open. Ends up all the things they screamed about most were just partisan bluster. Who could have guessed that… other than anyone who has ever dealt with the left before.

What are the core beliefs that liberals have that they will turn on their own side if a Democrat goes against them? That babies should be aborted? I think that’s about it. Basically just any view they feel to guilty about to ever walk back on.

* Apparently we might be going to war with Syria. Do they have oil? I think that’s only okay to do when the country doesn’t have anything of interest to the United States.

And while we’re in Syria… Iran is right there. Might as well get to it now and save some money. It’s like when they film a movie and its sequels back to back — it’s way cheaper that way.

* The iPad 3 will reportedly come out in March. I still have an iPad 1, which compared to the new stuff now looks like something a caveman would use to beat to death a woolly mammoth. I’ve also saved up my allowance (SarahK gives me an allowance every month if I’m good) to upgrade my tablet. So wow me, Apple. I’m ready this time. Make me a believer.

  1. I say we put America on the “Intervention” show — the crony capitalists. the logrollers, the featherbedders, the foodstampies, the welfare queens, the public-sector unions, the phony disability claimants, the benefits-specialist lawyers, all of them — and we all sit them down and calmly explain that their behavior is causing us great pain, it’s ruining the nation, and it’s unsustainable. That they’re cutting themselves off from every taxpayer who cares about them, and that they have to get themselves off the government teat and learn to be human again. Sure, it will be hard, on all of us, but it’s for their own good.

  2. One should not be able to vote if they are mooching off the government. The only ones who should get a vote are the ones paying the bill.

That’s how it worked when I was a kid and we went out to eat. If Dad wanted pie we could all have pie. If Dad was on a diet it was real likely I was not going to get any dessert.

  3. If we go to war with Syria, we’ll actually be going to war with Russia. So it’ll be just like old times.

At least, I think that’s what old times were like. I wouldn’t know; I wasn’t there.

  4. Catie the French Major says: If we go to war with Syria, we’ll actually be going to war with Russia. So it’ll be just like old times.

At least, I think that’s what old times were like. I wouldn’t know; I wasn’t there.

It’s okay, Catie, the French don’t even stick around for their own wars. We wouldn’t expect a Major in the French Army to be aware of the war against the Evil Empire.

  5. For the record: The Canadians are now preparing to ship not just oil but uranium to our friends in China.

Obama 2012: Because if we pretend we don’t need natural resources, maybe we really won’t. Or … something.

Obama the 2012: The “Or Something” Presidency.

  6. Obama is a neo-colonialist. For a neo-colonialist, the Keystone and uranium deals are a two-fold win. Firstly, petroleum prices here remain artificially high. As a result, Americans are forced to use less energy, thereby reducing our usage to a “fairer” amount vis-a-vis the rest of the world. Secondly,

  7. “Liberals now love drone strikes and keeping Gitmo open.”

But of course, liberals have a child-like childish fascination with miracle weapons that they believe will win a war without US casualties. Drones are a bonus for Obama because they take no prisoners.

We may succeed in pacifying isolated parts of Afghanistan; however, we will not secure the country until we secure the borders. Reliance on drones is proof positive that we do not have a plan for sealing the borders.

I believe it was Lt. Gen. Chesty Puller who said: You don’t hurt ’em if you don’t hit ’em.

  8. Personally I don’t think Obama is an ‘idiot’ for increasing government dependency by twenty-three percent. Who do you think all the people on the government teat are going to vote for, the guy who’s giving them the freebies…or the guy who wants to make them get up off their collective butts and go to work? Same with all the illegal’s who will be voting this fall, will they vote for the guy who wants to send them back where they came from or will they vote for the guy the guy who wants them to stay? Seems to me this ‘idiot’ is pretty slick. As a matter of fact (even though he’ll never get my vote) I’ll be very surprised if he’s not re-elected.

  9. Burma,

I really have no idea how three Democrat presidents presided over two successful world wars run by generals like Eisenhower, MacArthur, Bradley, Marshall, MacArthur, et al, who were trained in the modern American school of waging war – best exemplified by Grant – by worrying not about territory, finding the enemy’s main body, knowing that casualties must be accepted, engaging him in open combat, and destroying him.

  10. I say we start a viral write-in campaign for TOM SELLECK for GOP nominee! Who’s with me?!!!

Heck, check out his Wiki page: “On April 28, 2000, he received an honorary doctorate from Pepperdine University. He was chosen because of his outstanding character and ethic. He is a board member of the non-profit Joseph and Edna Josephson Institute of Ethics and co-founder of the Character Counts Coalition…Selleck is a member of the Board of Directors and public spokesman of the four-million-member NRA….”

C’mon! He’s better than anyone debating – and his slogan could be 2012 – Year of the Stache.

  11. So, if liberals keep aborting their children (killing them), aren’t we going to run out of liberals soon? I know…the school system and all, but there has to be an idiot gene that makes one a liberal for life, right?
