And, look at all of you, how beautiful you all look. Ya know, our opponents talk about women, and they don’t like ’em. In fact, they have waged a full-scale war on women like you, and it makes me sick. The way they treat women, and the things they say about women. If Mitt Romney had his way, each of you would be sitting at home with your feet up on the couch watching television. That’s what he’d like. That’s what he thinks of you. But, Barack Obama understands women. I’d like to think I know a little bit about women myself, too. And, I know that with Barack Obama as president, none of you will spend much time on the couch with your feet up, I’ll tell you that. I’d like nothing better than to see each one of you working two or three jobs so that you can help make ends meet. And, Barack Obama has a plan to help educate women. We all know you can’t get a job out there, support a child as a single mom, if all you know how to do is bake and clean. Am I right? You know that’s the truth. So, Barack’s initiative would give a $100 college credit to each single mother, per child, and help them learn a trade, so that they can become a nurse, or a waitress, or receptionist, and support their children when the child support doesn’t show up. Because, this is the party that cares about women like you…

Now accepting applications for baking and cleaning! Must like potatoes, boysenberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples and be able to bake/cook with same. Fondness for all kinds of garden vegetables would be good; weeding experience a plus. Cleaning optional every other Saturday. Must like dirt. Ability to make sammiches on demand is required. Previous experience not required. This is an entry level position where you come in the door and bake and clean (sporadically). Mitt Romney is the one who insists on you lovely women getting educated… Which would force you cuties to spend more time away from your home and family by getting jobs and working – as nurses, teachers, secretaries (of state), and such. I ask ya’, who needs all that? Lord…er…I mean…President Obama is the one who wants to let you gals stay home. He knows how hard it is to wait for that welfare check, pay your heavily subsidized rent, manage to get a ride to get your food stamps, sitting in the E.R. for your free prescriptions, making sure your kids are getting their free meals at school, all while you are trying to find a good man. Well, if you see things the way I do, you know you won’t find yourself a better man than Barak Obama. I know I haven’t!”

As someone who spent 28 years “staying home” with my 6 little angels I wish I could have sat on the couch with my feet up. I just got a notice from Social Security and for all my hard work, all my doing without, all my 26 hour days, nursing sick kids, supervising homework, cleaning, cooking, taking kids to school, scouts, church meetings, band concerts, music concerts and on and on. My monthly SS benefit is…………. wait for it………………$683 .00 a month. This is how the world values mothers. At that rate I could eat or I could pay rent but not both (good thing I have 6 kids huh)
Jimmy sweet man, I’m afraid the days of women baking cookies has passed. Thanks to politicians both parents have to work, there’s no time for cookies, and we’re too tired to even think about all the things we’d like to do. We’d like to spend time with our husbands, we’d like to volunteer at our kids school, or the hospital or rest home but after working all day, making dinner, bathing children, laundry, dishes, homework (all in the 3-4 hours left after school and finally getting home, before they go to bed) we don’t have time for cookies, pies or cake. Truthfully we don’t have the energy or the enthusiasm. All we want to do is forget the day even happened.
That is the America we have today, it is what the women’s movement promised us……we could have it all. Except we can’t and the wrongheaded pursuit of that has made us miserable like unto the author of our misery. We should be congratulated ….we have met the enemy and he is us.
