In New York City, one woman will be allowed to become a firefighter despite failing a crucial physical fitness test.
No problem. De Blasio & the City Council can just pass a law banning *really* dangerous fires.

Before I weigh in, I’d want to know if every Fire Chief has gotten his position by working his way up through the ranks, from the “carry-this-unconscious-man-up-six-flights” stage.
United Women Firefighters, an organization of FDNY women, objects to the FST test, contending it unfairly bars females.
So a man who can’t pass the test is actually a woman…? Sounds like they’re admitting that women aren’t qualified….
He also indicated he wanted to act before a possible sex discrimination lawsuit after the city paid $98 million to settle a lawsuit that accused the FDNY of discriminating against minorities.
Paid $98 million to who?? Other than lawyers…
So since the lawsuit after someone dies because this woman can’t carry them won’t be for $98 million, it’s ok, I guess “discrimination” is more important than people dying.
Wax had previously received another break to join the FDNY after pleading in June 2011 for a City Council bill that raised the age limit from 29 to 35 for applicants like her….
So, she’s too old, and can’t pass the test, $10 says she “retires” with 100% “disability” within 5 years because she was injured doing something that the test proved she couldn’t do. Then she’ll sue saying they never should have hired her and allowed her to get injured.

Of course, American voters did something even worse in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections (and other times).
…after all, what’s more important – public safety or political correctness?
