It’s weird. Both Star Wars and Star Trek fans shun and ignore this. They treat it like the Star Wars Holiday Special, or Star Trek: The Animated Series, and pretend it never happened.

Johns Hopkins University has banned Chick-fil-A from its campus, saying that the restaurant is a “microaggression” against its students.
A ban seems like overkill. Logically, the appropriate response should be “microwhining”.
