  1. One of the two times I was ever in a stadium luxury box was in the Astrodome but I don’t remember who the Astros were playing. One of the other people in the box was a British lady who couldn’t understand why some pitches were called strikes and some weren’t.

Seizing on a rare opportunity to know more about baseball than someone else, I explained what the strike zone was and how umpires use it. Apparently what I said made sense because she had a look of understanding on her face. It was either that or a very convincing “stop talking to me” look.

Anyway that’s the first thing I thought of when this YouTube guy started Brit-splaining baseball to me.

  2. Tonight’s history lesson…..will not be seen so we can bring you this important public service message. As everyone knows it’s getting close to that time when the friendly folks at the IRS are expecting a few extra duckets from a vast amount of the American people. At the same time there will be a large amount of scam/ripoff artists out there trying to take advantage of the old and/or gullable with fake IRS calls. So it’s kind of fun to watch a scammer get scammed. Remember, the IRS doesn’t call, they send registered letters if they’ve got a beef with you…………….
