I followed the thread of this song. The interesting thing to me is that the lead singer of the Gentrys is better know for his work in professional wrestling. Jimmy Hart, “the mouth of the South”, who was a “manager” for many heal teams in the WWF/WWE in the 80s and 90s. Including Brett “the Hitman” Hart and Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart.
