I don’t know. I’d never go to a hanging. Apart from being disturbing, in a little way it generates sympathy for the criminal, flipping and flopping up there. Thank God they use the hood!
I’m for capital punishment as long as I don’t have to watch it. (Unless it was revenge for someone who killed someone I know.)

The “Hangman’s Jig” is an extremely rare occurance with professional hangmen. See the movie “Pierrepoint – The Last Hangman” and know that consciousness is lost instantly when the neck is broken. In medieval times they were strangled slowly by the noose and did kick for some time hence, the term ‘hangman’s jig’ came into being.
First offense, send them back to the legal establishment of their country of origin to have them meet out the justice.
