Unpaid Content

I was melodiously reading this guy’s article, when it occurred to me that while he sounds like something I might read on IMAO and he is getting paid for it, you guys aren’t. (Neither are Walrus and me.) Doesn’t seem fair.

The Wrath of Kam
PowerLine | October 17, 2024 | Scott Johnson

Kamala Harris sat for an interview by Bret Baier for Special Report on Fox News yesterday. … Baier was, well, loaded for bear. I thought he did an excellent job within the time allowed. I have just a few thoughts and observations.

This was Harris’s first interview on Fox News. I take it that her appearance in this venue is a sign that her campaign is not going altogether swimmingly.

The interview was something of a calculated risk. Harris’s handlers have heretofore kept her from close encounters of the Fox News kind. They know she can’t defend her record or espouse the views that she has advocated over the years in the course of her career, as in her 2020 presidential campaign.

How did it go? I don’t think she’ll be returning to Fox News any time soon. Harris arrived late to the interview and her handlers sought to shut it down early. When Harris raised her voice and showed anger at Baier, I thought I would not want to be the staffer who urged her to do this interview. One could feel the wrath of Kam.

Good pun, but not IMAO good. You guys should unionize. Or at least get better agents.

If it weren’t for the opportunity to post photos of Ginger and MaryAnn, I’d go on strike myself.

Ah, TJ Hoover, Your Heart Was in the Right Place

Terrified organ donor came back to life and thrashed as surgeons prepared to harvest his body parts (Kentucky)
UK Daily Mail | 10/17/2024 | Melissa Koenig

A terrified organ donor came back to life, thrashing and crying on the operating room table, as surgeons prepared to harvest his body parts, according to witnesses – with one described as ‘everybody’s worst nightmare.’

Thomas ‘TJ’ Hoover II, 36, had been declared brain dead when surgeons went to remove his organs at Baptist Health Richmond Hospital in Kentucky in October 2021, his sister and former Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates employees told NPR.

But as doctors went to test his heart health for transplantation, Hoover reportedly became reanimated.

‘He was thrashing around on the table,’ Nyckoletta Martin recounted, claiming the patient was just sedated.

Meta fires staff who abused $25 meal vouchers
FOX Business | October 17, 2024 | Eric Revell

Meta provides workers with $25 meal vouchers for use at the office..

Meta fired roughly two dozen staffers based in Los Angeles for abusing the company’s $25 meal vouchers to purchase non-food household items…

Meta fired the workers last week after the company discovered that the workers were abusing its food credit system by using the funds to buy other household items, ranging from acne pads and wine glasses to laundry detergent.

According to the report, Meta staff are given daily allowances of $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch and another $25 for dinner — similar perks to what other large tech companies offer workers on top of their typical compensation packages.

Meta staffers, who indicated that they had a salary of about $400,000 at the tech giant, said they had used the $25 meal credits to purchase groceries like toothpaste and tea at the Rite Aid pharmacy.

The staffer said in the post that they admitted to misusing the credits when Meta’s human resources department began investigating the practice, and that they were later fired unexpectedly, saying it was “surreal.”

Try “so real.”
