I like Elton John’s early stuff. Some of those songs from the early 1970s are still pretty good all these years later. Well, I think so.
Oh, in case you are thinking there’s some related “Weird” Al video I’ll be sharing tomorrow night, you’d be thinking wrong. I won’t be sharing a related “Weird” Al song tomorrow night. Sorry if that disappoints you, but it’s just how I’m it this week.
What about you? Got something you’d like to share with everyone? It’s Thursday Night Open Thread, and you control the conversation.
What’s on your mind?

The Harp is a cool instrument. I once played ‘Smoke on the Water’ with it.
Go to YouTube and check out a chick named Luna Lee. She plays classic R&R songs on a gayageum – a traditional Korean harp-like instrument. Very talented young lady.
Awesome!…totally awesome!

Quite reminiscent of a slide or pedal steel guitar with a dobro sound.
I would be even more impressed if she set it on fire at the end.
Well done DC how did you come across her??? However that instrument looks too expensive to smash or set on fire. Besides it’s already been done and is really pretty blasé.
Blasé? Make it flambé I say!
Talent b talent.

Sorry Walrus, but I don’t see a bright future fo this guy…maybe a gig on the dark side of the Moon but that’s about it. I’ll put up a sign to that effect but that’s about the best I can do.
A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do.
True that.
It had never occurred to me, but now that I think about it, I don’t believe Al has ever done Elton John. Not even in a polka — nothing comes to mind.
Let me toss out a few Al Trivia questions:
1) What artist/band has had more of their songs used by Al than any other?
2) What two related artists have been parodied by Al?
3) Name three artists/bands Al lampooned on his first album.
4) Which two albums do NOT feature polkas?
5) What was the condition demanded by Dire Straits before they gave their consent to Al’s parody of Money For Nothing?
If there will be no “Official” Friday night Al video I offer this, an Al tune I missed. Or else was so wasted I didn’t remember it.
