There Are Many Dumbasses in Florida… in Other Counties than Brevard

I had commented on this trial earlier, and now the results are in: the gun is 5% liable, the owner of the gun who it was stolen from is liable, the school board is liable, and the punk kid who murdered the teacher is not liable. If some other punk kid hears this decision and tries to commit murder, how liable will this jury be? I say we take all those jury member and lock them in a room with a bunch of armed, un-liable punk kids. (Thanks to Right Wing News for the link)

  1. Actually, there’s a even more revolting twist. The gun owner doesn’t have to pay their percentage, and the school board doesn’t have to pay their percentage–the court suspended their payments. Only the distributor of the gun has to pay. Yes, the distributor–the gun manufacturer went bankrupt years ago, so they just decided to sue the distributor instead.
As Robert Crumb once said, “The whole goddamn f***ing world has gone to shit.”

  2. What is it with FLORIDA????
Seems like everytime there’s some weird-ass ruling it’s in Fla! It’s getting to the point that I hear something like that and say under my breath “Florida”. Then I find out it IS there. I know Cali is weird as hell, but now Florida’s getting there.
There was a story here in Houston where a woman and her son were hiding out here because her ex-husband, who had done time for MOLESTING HIS SON had been given visitation rights when he got out of prison. Not only that, the judge ordered her to make the boy visit, or else she’d lose custody- because, of course, “the father’s done his time”!! Where was all this from? Florida!!
I don’t know, maybe the media’s focusing there because of 2000…

  3. Lori, let’s not say anything we can’t take back. The idiocy is mainly isolated to a few counties, unlike California where it has become quite prevasive through out. Also, we have a conservative-Republican governor, right to carry laws, and no state income tax. Florida is still a nice place to live… except for the occasional act of God.

  4. Actually, Miss. & Alabama are also playing lawsuit lottery, closing businesses and forcing out health care. It’s a death spiral where the attorneys contribute to Dems, who let them get away with it, so they win more money, to elect more Dems, etc.
The jurors seem o look at it like shoplifting from a chain store…”They can afford it”.
Then they bitch when the local drug store closes.
