  1. Don’t feel bad, Frank. I came in fourth place in an award category for which I didn’t know I was nominated (apparently the slacker hippies running the site don’t actually contact the nominees to let them know they’re in the running): Chickenhawk of the Year 2008. It’s sad, because if I’d known, I could have trolled votes and got myself a better showing. I didn’t even get to vote for myself. Even the fool about to become President got to vote for himself.

I wouldn’t even have known I was in the running if I hadn’t been doing a little blog maintenance and noticed the hits from their site.

But there’s a silver lining here, and I’m feeling pretty good about myself. Scanning the categories, I found Michelle Malkin, Ace of Spades, the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler, and others were among the nominees, and I figure if I and my little blog are pissing off the hippies in the same league as some of these, I must be doing something right. I’ll have to try harder in 2009.

  2. Don’t be so hard on yourself Basil. We tolerate you just the way you are, and will probably come back every once in a while to read your blog.

But seriously, what do you expect? Your site is aimed at above average intelligence conservatives with a warped sense of humor (not exactly a huge demographic). If you want better ratings, you need to go for the least common denominator. My recommendation is to include pictures of scantily clad Asian women in all of your posts. At a minimum, it will make me happy. If you want include the pictures and still be conservative, maybe the pictures could be from a mail order bride company. Advertisements for marriage are conservative, right? (Note: It is a good thing my girlfriend doesn’t read blogs. She gets her news from http://www.jade-world-tv.com. Yes, there is a common theme here.)

  3. Frank..IMAO, JAWA, Ace, Moonbattery and Daily Gut are the bestest blogs out there. Just because a-holes from divisions of Acorn know how to clog a vote doesn’t mean you’re any less than fantastic. I’d hug you if you weren’t swimming with disease.
