Michelle Obama, racist cracker

It seems that Michelle Obama isn’t black enough.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the First Lady is under fire by Amnau Eele, co-founder of the Black Artists Association, for her selection of designers. Or for who she didn’t choose:

In an interview with the Sun-Times, Eele said that she wants the First Lady to know there are other, lesser-known designers that the First Lady should take a look at.

“You know, I have an issue that every day I meet young black designers that are facing homelessness, they can’t buy fabric, they can’t get the things they need,” she said. “We have qualified designers in the community. A young man like Michael Knight (of Project Runway) — surely you could have worn a scarf by him, a Tshirt, a handbag.”

Heh. Apparently, to some, Michelle Obama isn’t black enough. She must wear “black” clothes, too.

Martin Luther King wanted people to just his children “(not) by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” It seems that only applied to the late Yolanda, and only still applies to Martin III, Dexter, and Bernice. It seems it’s okay to judge others by their color. And by the color of their clothing designers.

It’s not enough to be black. You must shop black. Equality doesn’t mean … well, equality. Equality means favoritism.

Welcome to our world, Michelle.

  1. But…I thought racism had evaporated and disappeared and that we now had a new era of hope and change and…err…what? Oh…you mean…the people who have been making a living as victims of race for the last 40 years aren’t going quietly? So…we are going to see more of Rev. Jesse and Al and their ilk? And possibly they might be critical of The Most Merciful and Most High Obama, May He Live Forever? Hmmmmmmmm…

  2. Many of those who voted for O’vomit did so based on the color of his skin. This is not news to any of us who opted to look at his actual accomplishments ( there were NONE) or his policies (they are SCAREY and not in a good way).

The dirty little secret that the media have been trying desperately to hide is that there are bigots and racists in all races and that the black leadership in this country doesn’t want equality-they want to rule. “It’s their turn” after all.

As long as they pay my mortgage and send me my monthly “welfare” check not to mention pay 90% of the taxes to run the government, I can sit on my fat, lazy, colorless backside and watch movies all day. Might be interesting to see how the folks who have done just that for generations live.

  3. I am so sick of the color issue!! I know there are still racist people out there and most of them are black. Where’s my White Entertainment Network? Why can’t I say anything bad about someone of color without it being a racist remark? I hate Obama because he’s an idiot, it has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

  4. A young man like Michael Knight (of Project Runway)

What about Michael Knight of FLAG (Foundation for Law And Government)? That sounds like a group the Obamahdi would be eager to get behind. Membership includes a cool talking car.

  5. What?! That one’s wife thwarted the ravings of the racist by not wearing their clothing? What?! she wanted to pretend she was worthy of being the present’s squeeze? What?! she wanted to put on heirs of actually knowing that a person can dress is something other than a moo moo and cooler?

nelson on the Simpsons says it best — Ha Ha

  6. If Michelle Obama wants to buy fugly clothes designed by a guy who normally does Barbie Dolls (ahem), just because he’s from Chicago, maybe she’s sending a message of acceptance to little plastic people?

    Like MSNBC?

Maybe Jill Biden made up for it when on a subfreezing day she showed up in come f me pumps with a short sleeveless dress. A friend of mine started refering to the couple as “Slow Joe and Ho” at that point. She clearly would have looked appropriate on Rush Street late at night or outside a Clark Street bar.

BTW, the Obamamomma is ticked off that they have the beannie baby dolls named after her daughters. I can’t hear the daughters names and not think that if they were boys they’d be named Toby and Vladimir. I guess they did release a very white boy doll to go with them and named it Toby, so all we need is a Vladimir. Or maybe a Fidel.

Apparently with her, press releases over trivialities involving pieces of fabric is a two way street. It’s gonna be a LONG four years.

  7. MasterShake: “Awww, give her a break! She was merely wearing traditional garments from her home planet in honor of the occasion.”

The planet Afrosexual in the galaxy of Afrovania?

“I knew is was a mistake, splitting Biden’s brain between the two of them.”

    “Oh, Baracky!”

Oh, THIS could go on all day.

  8. I’ve been saying it for months…..someone needs to get Mrs. O a stylist! She chooses ill fitting, and, IMO, fugly garmets for these high profile moments. She needs to tone it down and look like a lady. First step is to learn to walk like a lady.

Being the first lady is not a place to make a fashion statement.

  9. #11 Jimmy-

It looked like she was wearing the White House drapes

Maybe she thought she could pull off that Carol Burnett skit parodying Gone With the Wind:

Biden: Michelle! That dress is fantastic!

Michelle-O: Thanks. I saw it in the window…and I just had to have it.

Seriously, here’s a thought about Amnau Eele; did it occur to her that maybe the “black artists” not chosen by Michelle just simply sucked? I mean, if I had to choose between a Rembrandt & street mural by some flamboyant punk, which do you think I’d choose?

  10. #15 Alan – “Thanks. I saw it in the window…and I just had to have it.”

Yeahbut! She couldn’t take the drapes to an ordinary seamstress because their sewing machines aren’t tough enough to penetrate that fabric.

She took ’em to a canvas upholstery shop that makes seat cushions and boat covers.

“Seriously, here’s a thought about Amnau Eele; did it occur to her that maybe the “black artists” not chosen by Michelle just simply sucked?”

Precisely! This is just more racist, socialist drivel.

The implication is that morally superior/intellectually enlightened people should buy “Product X” because it is “socially responsible”, “eco-friendly”, or supports “minority” business initiatives, etc.

The freedom to choose “Product Y” because it’s: better quality, more affordable, proven reliable and/or one’s personal preference goes against the libtard vision for their coming Utopia. (It also causes one to be labeled a selfish, greedy Capitalist).

“Buy American” campaigns are just as unrealistic.

Don’t ask me to waste my diligently earned money on crappy products (just so labor unions can renew fat, bloated contracts). Just give me a quality product to buy or shut your cake hole. Competition is good for consumers.

  12. #17

Exactly. It’s why free trade is the driving force behind any successful economic model. When people start trying to homogenize an industry just to support a narrow base of manufacturers, they lose the competitive edge. And consumers. And my respect. It’s makes no sense

“Why be innovative when you can be insulated?” That seems to have been the Big 3’s motto for 30 years now. I know that a Toyota isn’t exactly an “American” brand, but if someone offered me a Ford F250 for $20 or the option to buy a Tundra for $400, I’d go with the Tundra: Toyota is part of the free market & they recognized that to remain competitive wasn’t just a matter of providing a cheaper product- they also put effort into making a more reliable one that’s also more easily serviceable. Instead of putting resources into R&D, Ford, GM & Dodge got screwed into diverting them to maintaining the status quo of union strongarm robbers.

I’m a consumer. It’s my decision to spend my money where I damn well please: It’s not my f**king job to go with a lesser product just because it’s the approved course by the consensus.

Isolationism equals stagnation…and what lives in stagnant water (that is, aside from socialists)?
