  1. Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes: “So the secret to good self-esteem is to lower your expectations to the point where they’re already met”

So this reminds me of Joe “Neil Kinnock” Biden
Tell the cartoonist to stop plagiarising.

  2. Most Democrat politicians have already lowered their standards to rock bottom. So, I’m stumped. Let’s see.

Brian Williams of NBC? (bows and genuflects profusely to O-ZONE)

Jim Cramer of Mad Money? (currently carrying water for O-ZONE)

Colin Powell? (American needs bigger gubmint, voted for O-ZONE)

I give up, Harvey. It’s Friday and this is making my head hurt.

    Beeeeer.

  3. Well, I can’t think of a liberal that this doesn’t fit, so this is really a Rorschach test for the readership.

Then there’s the second-rate broadcast networks and cable news channels becoming increasingly callous about abandoning any pretense of journalistic objectivity. Their treatment of Palin & Joe the Plumber, the increasing flood of Obama puff pieces, and their egregious manhandling of the Tea Party protests.

  4. As a huge Pearls Before Swine fan, I love that you posted this strip. Personally, I think Stephen Pastis (the strip’s creator0 is a genius. His humor is clearly influenced by Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County) and Bill Watterson (Calvin and Hobbes).

  5. Actually, it seems very similar to most of the current GOP party “leaders”, who remain virtually silent as our country is further destroyed each day out of fear of criticism from liberal media. Not surprisingly, the “apathy”strategy doesn’t seem to be working for Boehner, McConnell, and the rest of the wonks.
