Yeah, I have to say I am a suspicious of these “numbers.” The thing is, Detroit has no gun control. Michigan has statewide firearms preemption so detroit can’t actually make any gun laws. We also have shall issue concealed carry, no “assault rifle” ban, and no magazine limits. I know the same is true of New Orleans.
So when I read a factoid like this and part of it is clearly false, the rest becomes suspect as well.
We don’t use lies and propaganda to win, that’s what the progressives do.
Hard to argue with Unistat76 on that. A bit of googling gun laws makes it clear that aside from strict licensing/registration rules you can legally have guns in Michigan and a law passed in Louisiana making owning firearms a fundamental right has led a judge to rule that even includes felons. Still, in Detroit if you want to possess a gun legally you essentially need permission from law enforcement to do so while the criminals, many whom could never qualify to own, possess or purchase a gun can easily obtain them.
When I tried to fact check this I couldn’t get the numbers to work. Not even close. Best I could tell is the four cities mentioned account for less than 10% of homicides in the U.S.

I ran the numbers from the FBI statistics and with the UN’s numbers. This image doesn’t make any sense.
