The Constitution is somewhat less than 3000 pages(ACA) Convention delegates spent 4 months negotiating it, there were no midnight votes, and nobody tried to say “you’ll have to pass it to find out what’s in it”. And 200 years ago nobody would have fallen for a line as stupid as that.

I’m not so sure about that. I bet our Supreme Court has found a lot more in it than the delegates had intended.
