[Ghost House (A Horror Movie in Real Life)] (Viewer #576,869)
As a rule, horror movies go WAY too long in establishing setting & character, and wasting half the film with phony jump-scares.
This neatly condenses the perfect horror movie into its 6 essential minutes, (or 5:20, depending on how long before you can tear yourself away from the ending scene)

Wouldn’t it have been hilarious if Don Knots had burned down the spook house in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken like that?
Wallpaper definitely added to the creepiness of that house. Actually, wallpaper was probably essential to the built-up suspense.
I think it was Eddie Murphy who did a bit about how things like The Amityville Horror would never happen to negroes. He said it would go something like this:
New Homeowner: This is such a great house. Good neighborhood, great schools, close to shopping, and
Weird voice from nowhere: GET OUT!
homeowner: and we’re leaving.
