I like old music. Maybe because I’m old. Maybe because new music is awful.
Anyway, I like old music. Especially when it’s new. You know what I mean. Old music that I haven’t heard before.
I’ve heard this one before, but maybe you haven’t. Let’s solve that right now.
What’s on your mind? Got something to share? It’s Tuesday Night Open Thread.
Who wants to start?

My best friend in the Navy didn’t like old music or any tv show or movie that was in black and white. I had to point out that some of the music he really liked (this was 1983-1986) was a remake of something from the 50s or 60s. He no longer liked those songs. I didn’t know about Big Ten Inch. I like this version much better.
Knew about the Aerosmith cover, hadn’t heard the original. Thanks.
Used to think the Aerosmith version was weird, since LPs are 12 inches. Made more sense after I learned 78s are 10
All I have is a little 5 inch. 🙁
A lot of the blues artists of the early twentieth century sang about sex but used a lot of innuendo to get around what they were singing about. For example…

And for sure they sang about drugs too…

Here’s a cooking pro tip. If you’re making garlic bread and find that you only have “flaky layered” biscuits in the fridge, don’t cut them in half, stretch them into bread sticks and bake them rounded side up.
The layers fan out and they end up looking like a tray of lady parts. Not appropriate for a family dinner.
Here to help ya.
Edgar Lee Masters, the author of the Spoon River Anthology, was born August 23, 2017. Here’s the late, great Steve Goodman performing my favorite version of one of my favorite songs, Michael Smith’s “Spoon River”.
