Wednesday Night Open Thread

Did I tell you I went to Baltimore?

No?

Okay, then. Well, I went to Baltimore.

There was a Doctor Who convention, and one of the only two surviving cast members from the very first show were there. Carol Ann Ford, who played The Doctor’s granddaughter Susan, was scheduled, but canceled the week before. But William Russell, who is now 93 and played Susan’s school teacher Ian Chesterton, who began traveling with The Doctor, was there.

It was great seeing William Russell.

If you haven’t seen Doctor Who, you might have seen him in The Great Escape (Sorren) or in The Man Who Never Was (Joe, Lucy’s actual fiancé). His son, Alfie Enoch was in the Harry Potter movies (Dean Thomas).

So, what about you? What have you been up to? Got something you’d like to share? It’s Wednesday Night Open Thread, and you talk about whatever you like.

What’s on your mind?

  1. A friend of mine sent me this and I was so moved by it that I decided to share it here. I must admit it actually brought tears to my eyes. I hope you find it impressive too…………….

  2. Today is opening day of the major league baseball season, which means that all is once again right with the world, and it’s the birthday of Denton True “Cy” Young, who, as a pitcher, won 511 games, and for whom the award given annually to the best pitcher in each of the major leagues is given. Cy was born March 29, 1867, in Gilmore, Ohio. Play ball!
