You remember when Billy Ray Cyrus came out back in — what was it? — 1992 singing “Achy Breaky Heart?” I said then that nothing good could come from that.
I’ve been proven right again and again.
Now, it’s your turn. It’s Thursday Night Open Thread, and you pick the topics we’ll talk about.
Who wants to start?

You’re right…Miley is his punishment for that song. A well deserved punishment at that.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation
under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Well at least her hair is normal in that video.
California may end up being divided into three seperate states. Here are some suggested names for them… 1. The Peoples Democratic Republic of Northern California. 2. The Democratic Peoples Republic of California. 3. The Southern California Peoples Democratic Republic. The good news…at least they won’t have Gov Moonbeam around anymore.
I heard Obozo thinks Moonbeam can be potus.
Not so fast there pardner. If they do split into several states they will have to write constitutions and there ain’t no guarantee that Brown won’t be able to run in any one of them. Heck, the way Liberals write things out in California he might end up being Governor for life in all 3.
And it just occurred to me that even if they do try to split the Federal government still has to accept them into the Union. It would be funny if they had to operate as territories while that was figured out.
I was against it till I read that.
Let them split up, then don’t let them in the Union.
You know, since CA pols will be in charge they’ll figure out how to make it 3 lefty enclaves so they can triple their senators.
It would be. But the Constitution would still consider the entire current state as one state until such time as Congress approves. Then, it would accept them all as states. Bummer.
Article IV, Section 3:
no new states shall be formed or erected within the jurisdiction of any other state; nor any state be formed by the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of the legislatures of the states concerned as well as of the Congress.
I wonder if Congress has to accept it as presented or if they can tell them to go back and come up with a better plan. THen go through the process again.
I love anything that makes life for liberals difficult.
Erroll Garner, a jazz pianist who is best known for writing the song “Misty”, was born June 15, 1923, in Pittsburgh. Here he is, playing a medley of his hit and sweating a lot:
