In the 1970s, I appreciated some of the songs that Led Zeppelin did. I was far from their biggest fan, though. That’s not to take away anything from their talent, though. I remember playing “Whole Lotta Love” many times when I worked at the radio station.
At the time, I didn’t know how similar that song was to the Willie Dixon song that Muddy Waters recorded in the early ’60s, “You Need Love.”
I’m not saying Led Zeppelin ripped him off, but if you conclude Led Zeppelin ripped him off, I won’t argue your point.
Enough of what I’ve been thinking about. What’s on your mind? Got something you’d like to share? It’s Saturday Night Open Thread, and you have the floor.

I’m not saying Led Zeppelin didn’t ripped him off…I’m just saying I believe they got permission and eveyone knew they were ripping him off.
They were sued and lost, or settled, and Dixon was later listed as one of the writers, getting a share of the royalties, past and future I hope.
Nelson Rockefeller, governor of New York and the only American vice-President (as far as we know) to die while engaging in sexual congress with his mistress, was born July 8, 1908, in Bar Harbor, Maine.
So you don’t buy those FDR rumors?
