Never really got into George Thorogood. Now, I know to some, that’s blasphemy, but ol’ George just never did it for me. I’ll accept that I’m in the minority and learn to live with it.
Do you have something you’d like to share? A link? A joke? Some words of wisdom? A topic to discuss? It’s our nightly Open Thread, and you have the floor.

Thorogood is thoroughly good.
OK, how’s this for a topic: What’s the deal with shoe drives? Yes, I said shoe drives. For example, some local non-profit has a drive to collect used shoes as a fund raiser. There will be a company that has made prior arrangement to then pay the non-profit for the shoes (by the pound).
Why? How does the company make money?
Wait; you mean shoes? Those things that you wear until they’re not worth anything any more? And are bulky to throw out? Someone pays for them?
I second the motion:
Even Burkino Fasoists and The Gambians wouldn’t want the things I get rid of. Which they probably made to begin with.
I never much liked him either.
I did used to look like him.
Then I looked like Tim Curry, in Clue not Rocky Horror.
Now I look like Uncle Fester.
We all have our crosses to bear.
BTW, Basil, did you follow the instructions on the back of the album: for max enjoyment, play at maximum volume?
A guy who knows that is a guy worth knowing.
Had to get a stereo that went to 11 to play it properly.
What? What? I didn’t hear that – got this perpetual ringing in my ears for some reason…
Basil: You’re still bad to the bone.
