Alabama Lab Owner Gets Prison Time for Falsifying Drug Tests That Cost Parents Custody of Their Kids
The Blaze | November 20, 2020 | Breck DumasA previously-convicted felon who owned an Alabama laboratory has been handed a lengthy prison term, after being convicted of falsifying paternity and drug tests that resulted in several parents wrongly losing custody of their children.
Brandy Murrah, 37, was sentenced to 15 years hard time, after pleading guilty to falsifying test results in at least that many instances that falsely claimed samples came back positive for drugs, the Dothan Eagle reported.
Murrah previously owned A&J Lab Collections — a business that collected hair follicle and urine samples and the like — and was supposed to forward them on for analysis and then report the findings to the Alabama Department of Human Resources.
But Murrah was caught falsifying the results after a mother who was accused of using drugs — and knew she was clean — called the doctor who purportedly signed off on her results collected by A&J. The doctor said they never received any sample, and the parent pressed for an investigation that found Murrah had submitted several fake results.
Like election overseers, and FISA court judges, law enforcement officials no doubt said: “But there were procedures in place! We’ll conduct a review as to how this could have happened.” And if the reporter believes that, he deserves his last name.
Hi all. Just some housekeeping on my part to keep you informed. I know that you want to know all that should be known. Know what I mean?
First off. In regards to the Harvey Awards. I hope to start a list of winners and how many each person has accumulated. I won’t be going back over past awards, too much work. Although I may give it a try. I hope to set a start date soon, it may be 1/1/2021.
Second. Babesleaga will continue and I hope everyone will email me ideas. Always looking for input and it would be preferable to send it to me in that fashion. Once we get to 8 completed leagues we will then have a league with the first round winners before starting our next group of 8 rounds. You may see some duplicate pictures in that process, please excuse the duplication.
Third. Midnight Special ideas always welcome. Send them to my email. Saturday Night Hootenanny themes are also welcome, but just remember it may disqualify you from getting a OGE. Send them through the IMAO email contact link at the top of the page.
Finally, I just want to thank everyone who comments here. You guys are a lot of fun and help make each day a bright one. Keep calm and post on my friends.
Among the Virginian Clemenses were Jere. [short for Jeremiah] and Sherrard. Jere. Clemens had a wide reputation as a good pistol-shot, and once it enabled him to get on the friendly side of some drummers when they wouldn’t have paid any attention to mere smooth words and arguments. He was out stumping the state at the time. The drummers were grouped in front of the stand and had been hired by the opposition to drum while he made his speech. When he was ready to begin he got out his revolver and laid it before him and said, in his soft, silky way:
“I do not wish to hurt anybody and shall try not to, but I have got just a bullet apiece for those six drums, and if you should want to play on them don’t stand behind them.”
Sherrard Clemens was a Republican Congressman from West Virginia in the war days, and then went out to St. Louis, where the James Clemens branch lived and still lives, and there he became a warm rebel. This was after the war. At the time that he was a Republican I was a rebel; but by the time he had become a rebel I was become (temporarily) a Republican. The Clemenses have always done the best they could to keep the political balances level, no matter how much it might inconvenience them. I did not know what had become of Sherrard Clemens; but once I introduced Senator Hawley to a Republican mass meeting in New England, and then I got a bitter letter from Sherrard from St. Louis. He said that the Republicans of the North — no, the “mudsills of the North” — had swept away the old aristocracy of the South with fire and sword, and it ill became me, an aristocrat by blood, to train with that kind of swine. Did I forget that I was a Lambton?
That was a reference to my mother’s side of the house. My mother was a Lambton — Lambton with a p, for some of the American Lamptons could not spell very well in early times, and so the name suffered at their hands. She was a native of Kentucky, and married my father in Lexington in 1823, when she was twenty years old and he twenty-four. Neither of them had an overplus of property. She brought him two or three negroes, but nothing else, I think. They removed to the remote and secluded village of Jamestown, in the mountain solitudes of east Tennessee. There their first crop of children was born, but as I was of a later vintage, I do not remember anything about it. I was postponed — postponed to Missouri. Missouri was an unknown new state and needed attractions.

‘Widespread destruction to businesses’ in Portland by violent black bloc vandals
The Blaze | November 21, 2020 | Paul Sacca
Destructive saboteurs purposely damaged at least two dozen businesses in Portland on Friday night. The Portland Police Bureau declared that the night of civil unrest resulted in “widespread destruction to businesses in Hollywood neighborhood.”The Portland Police Bureau stated that a “group of nearly 50 people gathered” and then “vandalized many businesses including many small businesses in their path.” The vandals were “dressed in all black and seen wearing helmets and carrying umbrellas.“
Police found that the violent black bloc anarchists “vandalized and destroyed private property in both Downtown and Northeast Portland.” The rioting group also vandalized the Mexican Consulate.
…Portland police officers were dispatched to the area. Despite the widespread destruction, no arrests were made.
Also on Friday night, a UPS driver was robbed at gunpoint and kidnapped in Northeast Portland. While the UPS driver was delivering packages, four suspects approached him. One pointed a gun at him and the other three duct-taped his wrists.
The thieves heisted the UPS truck and put the UPS driver in a light-colored Honda. “After a short distance, the suspects stopped, stole packages from the truck, released the driver and took off in their Honda. The driver was not hurt,” as reported by KOIN-TV.
For the record, I believe KOIN-TV is going the way of the nickelodeon.
Several close matches this past week. Audits confirm the results…
